theres a lot more lakes than patoka with tourneys...and legally
So I learned something new today. I spoke with Nate the dnr manager of bluegrass. It is illegal to hold a tourney of any kind on bluegrass or Glendale. He also said they know it is getting violated a lot on local dnr property and will be checking for it this year. Only lake in sw Indiana that can hold a tourney is patoka. The person who runs the tourney will be heavily fined. Anyone fishing in the tourney will also be fined. Another stupid law imo.
That is pretty stupid. I looked it up and by their definition, its not really a tournament until theres 15 boats involved.. So i dont know how they can enforce anything with less than 15 boats.. Heres what i found. Tell me what you guys think. http://www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild/4682.htm
Well according to that we could if there weren't more than 15 boats.
I dont know.. I kind of feel like the guy you talked to wasnt being competely upfront about it, or he doesnt know how they have it defined. I imagine they could get in some deep trouble if they wrote people up for something they have no business doing. Something doesnt seem right about it

Agreed. But I'm not sure if it is something worth pushing. But if a few guys showed up to fish at the same time what could be done about it.
that is a pretty retarded law. but yes, just have less than 15 boats lol. or go to a lake not regulated by the dnr.

i fished a company tournament a couple of years ago and there was only 10 boats and the dnr told me the same thing, (as long as there were no more than 15 boats he was cool with it). if we have it durning the week there is less pressure on bluegrass and only maybe 10 boats show up anyway
