Re: Dream fish
In 2005 i went to dixon lake in california in search of the spawning world record largemouth. Must have caught 100 male bass between 2-3 pds that week. They told us that out there in the clear water dont use noisey lures. Wednesday after tired of catching male bass i grabbed a rattle trap out of my box and on the third cast hooked a bass at least 10 pds but lost it when it jumped. Then thurday found what looked like at least a 15 pd bass on the nest. Caught the male off the nest and held it while trying to coax the female to bite with no luck. So anyway sorry bout the long story but the next year 2006 is when they caught the 25.2 pd bass off her nest. Thats the one i wanted to catch. Dream of a lifetime ! It was a awsome trip and i one day want to get back there !

Re: Dream fish
Like others I would love an 8lb class smallie. I would probably have a heart attack by the time it got to the boat  but man that would be awesome. I imagine it now, walking the dog on a main lake flat at Dale Hollow in May or a big 3/4 oz jig in December.

Re: Dream fish
World record freshwater Dorado would do it for me. 51+ lbs of the meanest baddest freshwater fish that swims. Like a bitbull with fins!

Cichla (peacock bass) are some awesome fish. My first hand account comes from keeping them in aquariums up to about 14" in size and let me tell you, even the small mouth cant compare with the speed and power of peacock bass. FYI, despite the amazing similarites peacock bass and not related to black bass. Peacocks are actually cichlids related to fish such as tilapia and the oscars, the popular aquarium fish.

Re: Dream fish
I only need one more ounce than Hank Ferguson... 67lbs 9 oz. I truely believe I live within a 4 hour drive of where this fish swims too!
I know you only asked for one dream but a triple digit blue would be another - again, one ounce bigger than Chuck's! I'll be fishing a couple TN River lakes in AL in a couple days where I know 9+ lb smallies and 100+ lb cats swim!
