Yeah, that's what I find strange is they are still around elsewhere. I've found them in a creek in Jefferson County too. Surely they ALL couldn't have been washed out by the 1997 flood--you'd think they would have made a comeback by now. I've had people tell me they've seen Dobson flies around. I guess we can always hope.

I recently made a trip to Elkhorn behind the fish hatchery and couldn't seine up one hellgrammite. We where able to get some crawdads and minnows but they just don't produce the same as hellgrammites. Does anyone know of any creek near Alexandria where they can be found?

The Licking River up near Butler used to have a bunch of them. I live on Rifle Range Rd. and I haven't seen any up by me. Might want to try 12 mile creek too.
