Re: Strike king red eye shad
i lose fish constantly on anything with treble hooks...therefore, i hate them
LOL, I was saying to Andrew aka APB on this site just the other day.
''How in the world does a fish get off of baits with 2 and 3 treble hooks on them??''
His reply was I don't know but they sure do, lol.
Re: Strike king red eye shad
I agree with what everybody has posted thus far...even the comment about treble hooks!! However, one major downfall with the redeye shad, is the paint job.
Not sure how many of you have noticed, but the paint job on these baits is less than "acceptable". Don't even try to work these baits through rocks (which you probably shouldn't be anyway) or your $5.49 lure will come back with half of its paint missing on the first cast. If there's wood around...the trebles will find it and good luck getting it back. However, the redeye shad works great in open water and grass!!
Re: Strike king red eye shad
A slow rolled day means no nose on red eyed shad or rattle traps. Now my spros and yo-zuri's are still in go shape. Last year had lots problems with the knockers. Hooks very poor, now this year some hooks on them ok. weird.
Re: Strike king red eye shad
all the paint came off mine!!!
Re: Strike king red eye shad
thats so true about the suckie paint job, I tossed this thing around at my tournament last weekend and didnt catch a fish on it and it looks so soo beat up!

I keep trying the strike king baits but the eyes keep falling off of every one I have purchased. They seem to be junk to me. Bet KVD didn't buy his off the shelf at wally world
Re: Strike king red eye shad
I like the red eyed shad, but I think the lipless clacker bait will catch more fish. it is a trout killer, I don't even like to catch trout. I went to woods creek the other day, caught 3 bass with it. but couldn't fish it for catching little 10 inch trout. laurel same way, the trout love it.
