Re: How I would fix basketball
I like your ideas, Tim. I must confess that I gulped hard about the required 2.5 GPA. After all, I studied non-stop and barely escaped college with a 2.4!
While that may be true Eddie, you didn't have an entire academic supports staff, tutors on call etc. that the athletes do.
Re: How I would fix basketball
college basket ball is the NBA farm system. Want to fix basket ball? Use the same criteria for ALL students. If your SAT score is that low, what happened to your primary education? Why should an illiteraten thug get special treatment for athletic skills? Football is the same thing, when I hear some of these clowns speak on an interview, it makes me wonder why we even try to have public education. If the universitys want to go pro, fine, then make them pay taxes. Look at all these heros??? who are in front of judges for behavior that is not the norm for society. This is what are universitys are for?
Re: How I would fix basketball
I agree when most of these players speak they sound mumbly, lazy and ignorant not all of them but most.
This is why when a young man comes through like Tebow it makes me think there is still hope!
Re: How I would fix basketball
WE are paying taxes so that the NBA and the NFL can further screen candidates to play for a couple of years and then go to jail.Such a country!

WHAT??? Can you please explain whatever it is you are talking about? The average NBA player has already paid more in taxes based on salary in 10 years than you will pay in your entire life!
