Re: Oil spill in the Gulf
At the very moment this rig exploded, there were senior BP executives on board, slapping each other on the back over how safe the rig was:

So, what about all those OTHER rigs, that they don't think are as safe?
Drill, Baby, drill!

A cheap shot huh? I knew you would jab just wondered when? :p
Since you want to go down that road what shall we do? Continue to be held hostage by other countries and our gubment? How many administrations have held us back from finding new sources of fuel? How many people have made a living off of those oil rigs? Future oil rigs?
I still say drill baby drill because the alternative is wrong for this country. My statement before of this being the excuse for wackos seems to be coming true.:p  Naturally I'm speaking about those on t.v.;)
Re: Oil spill in the Gulf
Saw that opening and just couldn't resist.:)
Truthfully, if we are going to do SOME more drilling, to bridge the gap between now and when we have a good alternative developed, one that will not just reduce, but ELIMINATE, our dependence on foreign countries for our energy supply, I'm ok with that. But it seems to me that a lot of people consider increased drilling to be the final solution, and that I totally disagree with.
But come on.. you DO see the irony here, don't you? Senior execs being on board at the very moment it blew, celebrating how safe it was?
Re: Oil spill in the Gulf
I'm 100% on board with alternate fuel. Using our resources to bridge the gap is a great idea. I wish our politicians would agree but I fear that so much oil money is in congress that it's gonna be tough.
Our dependency on oil from countries that could be or has been funding radicals is crazy!
Now what is this administrations stance on coal and nuclear energy? I really don't remember.
