Re: Calapari = The game
is there not anything good going on with the UL basketball program? seems like all their fans want to talk about is what might happen to bring UK down, when they should be more concerned with what can be done to bring UL up. if cal wants the NBA, let him go and when hes done and realizes what a mistake he made, he can come back and coach at some school that is in and always will be in UKs shadow. later
Now skeeter if this was Pitino Uk fans would be on this like a Mallard Duck on a June bug and you know it. It is all over the news today, you can't get away from it, we gotta talk about something.....(right). He hasn't left yet, money talks, we'll se how it plays out.
BTW, Pitino had a nice recruiting class, Louisville will be fine, I'm not worried about that. Sure it wasn't the number one recruiting class in the nation but it wasn't bad at all.

Re: Calapari = The game
He will be leaving Lexington. I have a good source. Oh well...bring on John Pelphey or Travis Ford.
I had a good source tell me Billy Donovan was coming a fews years back before UK finally hired Billy G. We met a local Bank President at the Airport (we were headed to Florida as well) on his way down to get the final details ironed out.
Amazing how many people in our group got on the phone after talking to him with the breaking news!:p

LOL. Yeah, I remember some people who really used the "DONE DEAL" phrase a lot and were tracking private flights and rental cars out of Orlando over Eddie Munster.
-----
1. Memphis offered Cal more money to stay (per Cal). He told Memphis that it wasn't about more money - It was Kentucky. Was that coach-speak? I dunno. But it is what it is.
2. Cal told Mitch Barnhart that he did not want/need a raise. On account, Barnhart has said that the contract re-negotiations will be about extending the length of his stay in Lexington, not more money.
I just don't really see both of those things being from someone who is all about making more money for himself. The guy's already got a TON of cash with his mega-salary and endorsements...what he says is his dream job in college...and he has already failed miserably in the NBA. He's got a fan base that generally loves him here, spotlight, players, ties to the Pros, and plenty of cash. He can look 70 miles West and ask a certain fellow if the grass is greener if he doesn't remember for himself.
Call me naive, but I think he's here for a good while if he doesn't somehow screw it up. I think he has his crap together and he won't.
If he leaves tomorrow and I'm totally wrong, so be it, but I think he's a Wildcat for awhile.

Re: Calapari = The game
PS. Terrance Jones to UK just happened.
That makes this incoming class far and away the #1 class for 2010-2011...
Coach isn't going anywhere.

Re: Calapari = The game

Not sure why he is selling the Miami house, but he has said he is selling the Louisville house because all of his kids are now out and he is downsizing. At least that is the word from the people in the know.

Old news, REAL OLD, he said he was selling that house over a month ago for the reason Tim stated, nice try though. Hell nobody wants Pitino anymore so you guys don't even need to get that started, lol.
