Re: Rocky fork lake
If u go to East Fork, I've always had good EARLY fishing on the bank on the dam side of the ramp at the west end of the lake. It's always been good during summer patterns for a fish or two. It's shallow and doesn't hold the fish when the light hits it for any length of time. All of the fish have come from the first 50 yards from the ramp toward the dam riprap. Tubes, top water and shallow cranks were the baits I have used. I have backed off but without any results.
I've also had results on East Fork in general with a 1/8 oz jighead and a 4"Senko.

Re: Rocky fork lake
I fished East Fork this weekend they changed because they thought the river was too bad. Well East Fork was rough. the water has changed it's stained green and about 80 degrees. a few people came in with fish but I got skunked for the first time this year. They said they got them off of points deep diving crankbaits. but I had no luck my partner got two on a shakey head. I only got a few taps didn't even boat a short one. I'll be there again in 2 weeks I hope it's better by then.

Re: Rocky fork lake
Sorry to hear you had one of those days. It happens to everybody.
I've been on the bank for the last week to 10 days with relatives visiting and some recent dental surgery. I'm planning on getting back on the water tomorrow or Thursday. I have to get back to Paint Creek in prep for a 7/10 ABA. I'll keep working the deep water after the early fishing is over. When I lived in OK., this is when the dock fishing really picked up.

Re: Rocky fork lake
Things happen, but not a bad day overall,my own experience with paint creek is parking lot was always muddy in the spring, and rocky fork was iffy to me,also fished aba.
Yet deer creek always paid off.

Re: Rocky fork lake
Thanks and good luck to you. I also have a tourney that day at East Fork again. I think I'll go at it alittle different this time. Work the road beds and humps in deeper water. Use a carolina rig and 30+ crankbait. But you know how it goes what ever you plan for it's always something else. Thats why my tackle bag weighs 60lbs!!

Re: Rocky fork lake
Going over to PC wednesday to prefish. Let me know what happened on East Fork. I like the lake but have only fished it 6 or 7 times. Anywhere you go this time of year gets tough after 8 am.

Re: Rocky fork lake
Good luck at pc I haven't fished there yet but maybe some day when I get my boat together. I won't be doing the 10th afterall my partner can't make it. But we have a night tourney at Brookeville the 17th then East fork the 24th is also a night tourney. At least we won't have to deal with sunburn and jetski's. I might go to Miamiwhite water forest just to get my line wet no sense wasting a weekend.

Re: Rocky fork lake
It was given to me. My Mother put it in storage after Dad died and it hasn't ran in 5 years it needs alot of work. After sitting for so long I need to go over it before I can use it. It's a nice pro v 17 Bass Tracker with a 75 horse and an 85lb trolling motor. Money is a little tight but I'll get it going.

Re: Rocky fork lake
Amen to the tight money. Obamanomics has been a wonderful change for all of us. Fortunately, I bought my boat and truck 3 years ago, so I only worry about the price of gas. Boats are a hole in the water you throw money into. I use mine alot so it has very few problem, most of which I fix.
What neck of the woods do you reside in, I live in Springboro.

Re: Rocky fork lake
Hey Mark I'm familliar with that area I used to play music up there. I live in White Oak on the north west side of cincy. I belong to two clubs Southern Ohio Bass Masters and Rod busters of cincy. There are some really great people in both clubs. One stays pretty much local and the other does some traveling. The S.O.B is a partners club where you stay with the same person for all tourneys. the other is a draw partner club. Both have their benifits. I've learned alot in the past three years and have done well in both. Do you belong to any club? It's a great way to meet new people and learn a some new lakes.

Re: Rocky fork lake
No club at this time. I do most of my fishing alone these days. I love tournament fishing and do some occassionally now, but the expense is prohibitive. I lived in Oklahoma for 10 years and learned to fish there. I'm hoping to move to Guntersville after I can sell some of my real estate holdings, but who knows when that will be? I'd like to fish the Ohio Bass federation tournaments and some of the opens but that means pre-fishing and road costs that I can't do right now. Oh well, fishing anywhere is better than lots of alternatives. I should mention that I love to go to Canada to fish for big Pike and Walleye as well as to Dale Hollow and Center Hill for smallmouth. Trying to be an angler for several species. My email is "], send me an email and I'll send you some pics of some big pike and lake trout I caught in northern Manitoba.
