Re: NCAA Looking Into Former Kentucky Player Bledsoe
I agree. If his grades were fixed, then he would be ineligible. But how would UK or Calipari know that? This isn't something Calipari did. Also, UK wasn't the only school that offered Bledsoe.
My mention of Forde was based upon this blog post:

I just don't see this as anything that is going to hurt UK. I see it as people chase Calipari more than other coaches and even more now that he's at the top program in the country.
Re: NCAA Looking Into Former Kentucky Player Bledsoe
Matt Jones, being such an acclaimed journalist, sure has a lot of unnamed sources. When they saw his transcripts, it should have thrown up some red flags. It also doesn't matter if UK didn't know about it, they still played an inelligible player. The precedent with the NCAA has already been set. So you really think that people are just out to get Cal? That he is always innocent and people are just mean and don't like him?
Re: NCAA Looking Into Former Kentucky Player Bledsoe
I agreed. If he was ineligible, he was ineligible.
But again, I'm not sure how Cal would have known this.
Plus - I have a big issue with the NCAA clearing a player and then reversing that decision later.
I do not think Cal is always innocent, but I think there are a lot of people out there doing things just like he is or worse that do not get the scrutiny he does.
Just watch - this one will not end badly for UK.

I agree. We are of full of hopes. SO I hope we all get our hopes forfilled in one form or another.

The answer is.............DON'T go after him in the first place. LOTS of BAD SEEDS..........Calipari is responsible for the players he brings to the university. As asked before....WHY does this garbage follow him everywhere. Maybe it is BECAUSE he lets it follow him. Run a cleaner program, and maybe, just maybe this GARBAGE would stop.
You don't see programs like Duke or Kansas, or Indiana or so many other TOP TIER schools having these types of violations.
Duke and Indiana has NEVER taken a prop-48 player. They don't qualify for many reasons. It is very unlikely that a student who has NEVER gotten the grades before can turn it around in 1 year to be eligible to play. TOO much baggage to deal with with those kids anyways. Let the JC and Div II ranks deal with them.
If they get their HEADS out of there butt enough to qualify after JC or Div II, then let them xfer to a Div I school.......
***** being Calipari right now....but hey..........he's used to it.

Much of what you say about bad seeds may be true, but I just don't think it applies in this case.
It's one thing to apparently fake an SAT (Derrick Rose), but it's another thing to talk about grades that a school gave out. Grades are at the discretion of the school and teacher. You don't think some schools and some teachers out there ever give higher grades to star athletes? It probably happens all the time. It will be nearly impossible to find any wrong doing on that other than the illegal release of the transcript, but that will likely be on the school, coach or media source.
Now - with regard to paying the family's rent for 3 months. That could cause him to be ineligible. But again, what does that have to do with Cal and how could he or anyone else have known that or found it out?
Personally, I'm almost shocked this is as much of a story as it is.

I think most everyone knows im not a big uk fan, but this isnt directed at just uk. It seems to me that the way of current college basketball is to find kids with talent and get them to college, no matter what. There are a few schools that dont do this but most do. Then when something happens or someone lets the cat out of the bag about fixed grades in high school or a kids family receiving money, everyone acts surprised. If you keep getting kids with talent and problems then eventually its gonna bite you. Given alot of coaches-including Cal-have taken these kind of kids and turned them around, seems like we dont hear much about those, just the bad ones. Sorry to ramble one, just my 2 cents.
