I deer hunt with a 30.06 it has always got the job done. Hopefully a home intruder never has to be introduced to it either, we would be a long time cleaning that mess up, lol.
I was told alot of guys shoot .40 Cal M&P's. What did you shoot with?
There are indeed a few M&P guys, bute teh Glock fanboys are the majority... I shoot with my M&P 40 compact with full size mags and grip extensions... the sight radius is short, putting me at a disadvantage, but i use the matches as an oppurtunity to train for self defense under a simulated stress environment. Since the compact is my carry gun, thats what i shoot with...
Great idea. I'm still fumbling around on which pistol I want for my carry. I use the older wheel gun for when I'm out in the boat, motorcycle or atv but like my .45 Ultra Compact for other times. I need a small 9mm like the Springfield XD or M&P maybe that can be my all around carry.
for 9mm, I love teh M&P compact or teh new Ruger SR9 compact. I like J-Frame wheel guns as pocket guns, but aside form that I am a semi auto kinda guy...
I love my M&P 40. I have the full size for my cc, it sticks out some but the compact just didnt feel comfortable in my hands. My second favorite is a glock g31 in .357. I deer hunt with my trusty old mossberg bolt action 12 gauge. With all the advance in slug tech I get awsome groups and tons of knock down power. The sniper shows were on this morning at 8 and 9am. Ive seen them before but I am amazed at some of the shots those guys pull off.
Sounds like me after working all night and hitting a bar on the way home.
I carry a Glock 27 all the time. No matter what. I buy my my pants one size too big and tuck it in. It has worked for years for me.
I'm mot that much into pistols, When I go fishing and I feel the need to go armed, my 22 SW is good enough for me.For home protection, my 20 gauge probably would do every thing I needed. While in the service, since I was infantry, got to qualify with almost all small arms. I know we shot the M-1 at least at the 300 yard range, I'm also thinking 500 yrds, but the mind is a little fuzzy about that.I know the BAR was good at 500 yds, those were 30/06 weapons,, the one I liked was the M-! carbine, two banana clips taped together, and those 60 rounds were gone in a flash, wasn't much for accuracy though. I know a guy who has one of those 50 calibre hand guns, no! I wouldn't want to shoot it.Both my son in laws are pistol nuts, one labor day week end about 6 yrs ago we did some serious pistol shooting on my property,From 22s up to 44 mags, including 357s. I swear the ground was ankle deep with spent shells. The wives and kids just paked up and left because they knew there would be noise all day long.Well those days are gone, its hard to find a lot of ammo, and its got to be very expensive. i still like to shoot the 22s at about 30 yards, and a 100 rounds wont bankrupt me. For pesky water snakes that wont go away from my crappie lights, the 22 with small shot cxhanges their minds quick!
