Bug I have a torn rotator cuff and my shoulder became stiff because of the tear and the fact I did not use it because of the pain and the fact I did nothing for a year. Finally had MRI and was sent to an orthopedic surgeon. He told me he would not operate until I had done exercises to loosen up the shoulder. I went back in two weeks and was improving very well he told me to keep up the exercises and come back. When I went back I was doing great and was in no pain, He asked me if I was doing so well why should we operate and I agreed. He said the tear would not heal and if it got worse to come see him. I was telling another Dr. this story and he said he thinks any tear will heal over time.
Do they have you doing any exercises?
Have a good Labor day Bug.

I do my exercises right after I get out of bed in the morning because that's the time when I am sore and stiff and I use my arm regardless of whether it hurts or not. I'm more concerned about the two tendon that are torn but so far so good. I have a high pain tolerance and did not take any pain medications other than Tylenol, and 2 Tramadol pills when I was first injured. I believe the 2 epidurals I had to block the pain in my neck have helped to control the pain in my shoulder. It has been almost a year since I was injured and something has to have healed during that period of time. I told my family doctor that if I have made it this long without surgery I can make it another 5 years. His answer was that the surgery would cause me horrible pain and if it was him, he would not have it but just be careful not to do anything to reinjure it. My orthopaedic surgeon disagrees and I think that is partly because he knows I have good insurance. He had to refund me about $2,200 that they requested in advance of the surgery and it was like ripping his teeth out to get it. It took 3 months after the surgery was cancelled.
Have a great Labor Day.
Saturday I will have my trusty longbow and we will be setting in a tree stand watching the sun rise. Will probably leave around 10 a.m. to attend a dove shoot for disabled hunters for a magazine story I am doing. Will leave there and arrive at Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium for kick off. Sunday and monday, bowhunting daylight to dark.
If I was smart enough to know how to post a picture on the Photo board, I would post one that might make you drool. I don't have a child around here to explain how to do it. lol
