My daughter was diagnosed with 'mild' scoliosis, and was referred to the Leatherman Spine Center. The wife took her down for an appointment with one of their surgeons, and took the x-rays from our family doctor.
The surgeon examined the films, and then pretty much chewed out my wife and daughter for wasting his time. Apparently the curvature of her spine wasn't severe enough to need surgery.
I was not able to get off work to go with them. It's probably a good thing, I probably would have made an ugly scene.
Anyway, that's my experience with them.

LOL Hey man, that Maker's Mark is some potent jungle juice and it will do more than prevent rust. Too much of it could make an ugly fat girl look like Marilyn Monroe through the bottom of a glass.

Run as fast as you can away from whomever diagnosed you with a SLIPPED disk! Find someone who can verify you have a bulged, herniated or ruptured disk then call DR Nazar! He works in Baptist East! :)

Somebody tell me that I didn't just read the above statement.
NOBODY can verify what is wrong with the man without x-rays, MRIs, myelograms, etc., not even Dr. Nazar. Most neurosurgeons don't do their own radiographical or imaging examinations but send the patient to a facility that does nothing but those procedures. It can be in-house or outside referral.

Several years ago I had the bulged / herniated disc thing going on just at the top of my shoulders. If I turned my head, my neck popped and had pain running down my arms and into my back. I saw a surgeon who wanted to operate and who told me that typically 25% of the people got better, 25% got worse, and 50% had the same pain afterwards. I decided that I did not need him operating if I had a 75% chance of staying the same or getting worse and left him quickly, at a run. Fortunately I found a good young chiropractor (recommended by a friend) who treated it with electrical stimulation, hot moist heat, exercises, and some neck traction. He also recommended that I quit sodas and drink more water which helps to keep things better hydrated and lubricated. It certainly did not change dramatically overnight, bit it seldom bothers me much anymore. Good luck.

Comes and goes, I feel your pain. I have had 2 lower back surgeries myself. Alot of research says its better to not have surgery if you can and do good exercises to strengthen your back followed by proper lifting techniques. GOOD LUCK!:)

Marilyn is not likely the one who would make you gnaw your arm off the next morning. lol
Had mine done at Vanderbilt. Not 100% pain free but get around pretty good now.
