T-ville has been good to me this year. I use to feel the same as you guys. But for the past 4 years it seems like someone flipped a light switch.

I dont know,The catfish bite is strong.A decent white bass run.The hybrids arent what they used to be but still fair. Those bass fisherman bring in some decent weights depending on the time of year. The crappie are down too but on the way up i think.
I do agree it has it's got it's problems, mainly too many boats in the summer. It's pretty narrow in places too so you might get run over. It's pretty quiet this time of year though.I fish for what's biting and do ok.Almost never in the summer.
sympson is rockin lately.. if you can get your boat in there.
I'm in Bardstown and was planning on taking my boat out there tomorrow. What's rockin? the bass or blugill fishing? I typically NEVER catch nothing there but I'm just wanting to take my new boat out. Heck, I live on Hubbards Lane so it's only 1/4 mile from me.

I have to agree with you Creekrock. I got to fish the Salt for two years prior to the lake being built. Talk about a smallmouth paradise! I was initially sad when it happened, but I think overall, Taylorsville is a good lake. (Spring, fall, and winter). I can understand if you fished for nothing but largemouth the frustration would leave you with a bald patch on your head, but it's a rare day that I leave the lake dissapointed. If the Army Corp could work hand in hand with KDFW, or explain why they yo-yo the lake levels to the extreme, maybe we could get some decent bass spawns a couple of years in a row and improve the fishery. In the meantime, I'm perfectly happy catching hybrids, whites, and crappie.
Some of you must be basing your opinion of T-Ville from years past, because the past two years have been awesome for me and the people I know that fish there. Last Summer was the best I've seen for the white bass jumps. Almost every day from sun up to about 8:30 the white bass were in the jumps. I kept my freezer full all last year. I didn't get to do much this year. As far as catfish goes, T-ville is considered one of the best catfish lakes in the state. I remember an article in the Courier Journal talking about this. I've jugged regularly this past year and have killed the blues and channels using cut shad. People don't realize this, but their are some huge crappie in there. Last spring I didn't catch a crappie under 9 inches in the spot I was fishing. Everyone one was between 10 and 13 inch big slab crappie. I don't fish for largemouth much, but my friends do and they don't have any problems. The local bait of choice for largemouth in that lake is a pumpkin seed salamander. One of you mentioned the Salt River and Smallmouth before the dam was flooded. Where Brashears Creek and the Salt come together here in Taylorsville is one of the best Smallmouth spots in the state during the Spring. Check it out!!
It is a good catfish lake I will give it that. But Chuck has ruint me, I just can't go fish for the whiskers anymore unless there is gonna be a chance at a monster. A monster blue in that lake is 30lb, we call those pussy fish at the river.
I need to start fishing for crappie, I love to eat them rascals. I have not seen what I would consider a real good white bass jump on that lake ever. The ones we do catch are usually very small also. I always catch bass when I'm FORCED to fish that lake and occassionally catch a nice one or two, but most are those 14 inch bass, yawn............ Now when that lake was first impounded we use to knock some good ones on the head.

The Bass fishing has been good, a lot of people out there fish for bluegill but I don't know why as they are pretty small.
Fish down the points with crankbaits right now. I might head out there for awhile myself and might see ya.
