Re: Morse lake Ice Fishing...WOW!!!!
Good post there fella.
I dont care about ice fishin, Im too fat to be out there standing aver a hole with a spear!LOL!!!!!
But that guys right, take to many fish out and it dont take long. My Pops farm pond had this happen, big farm pond to like 80 acres. Seems that we had a couple guys comin in and taking everyting they caught from bass to cats and they did this for an entire summer without us knowing. They was real good at being sneaky, never left no trash or anytihing.
Only reason we cught them was becuase my Pops was real good friends with teh local constable and he got wind of guys selling the fish!!!!! Dont know how many they took out but its not been the same for 10 years now.
600 filets!!!!!!! WOWSERS!
I couldnt afford all the corn meal and tarter sause!!!
Re: Morse lake Ice Fishing...WOW!!!!

Re: Morse lake Ice Fishing...WOW!!!!
Some people are so ignorant about common sense it makes me laugh sometimes, it's surprising that they survived long enough to even make it to adulthood.
Guess it's true, that ignorance is bliss.
Nothing wrong with keeping 300 fish in 3 days? Ha, classic... enjoy all those chemicals you are ingesting.
That was about 3 weeks ago, so what are you up to now... about 2,000 fish?
Come'on man, use some common sense and keep what you need. We can all go out and keep fish, but we don't cause nobody needs that many fish and it will hurt the fishing.
Re: Morse lake Ice Fishing...WOW!!!!
You bass guys get the blame for creating POOR bluegill/crappie fisheries when you introduce shad into the fishery. That's just the way it is with fisherman, BASS FISHERMAN get the blame for the introduction of shad...to fatten up the bass and catch a new state record.
I'm in contact with two fisheries biologist here in Southern Indiana, they work for the DNR, and off the record they will flat out tell you the bass fisherman have ruined Patoka with the shad introduction. You guys don't want to except the blame and probably most of you are legit, good guys, but it's that select few running down the road in their fancy boats and trucks that pollute these lakes with shad.
That's ok though, the biologist have a plan for Patoka and it starts with several predator fish. I look for the shad population to go down with their new plans. I can't wait to read the bass guys crying over smaller bass.lmao.

I thought this broken record got thrown out, guess not huh?
Patoka ruined? It's sure is, make sure you stay away from it. Don't worry about the crying over small bass because we don't eat our big fish.

As opposed to hearing you cry now about how your crappie/bluegill fishing is terrible?
Let me guess... At one point you could catch gobs of fish... and big ones right? But over the years its slowly gotten harder to catch quantity and quality... So lets find the first person to blame other than ourselves! Bass guys did it!
How many panfish do you keep in a trip? The answer is as many as can be cut into filets.
Perhaps if you tried rationing yourselves to 15-20 fish instead of 50 a day you might still be catching that same number and quantity.
The hardest thing to do sometimes is look in the mirror.

Re: Morse lake Ice Fishing...WOW!!!!
Catch and release in grease! I liked the slot limit at Patoka. Keep 6 bass under 12 inches everyday if I could. Big as a piece of bread, big enough for me.. The law states that a man can keep fish, so do it if you want. I'm a bass tournament guy and I don't think keeping bass or panfish is bad. I love a fish dinner anytime I can get it. If I saw a kid catch a 7 pounder on the bank and put it on a stringer for dinner, I would praise him for catching such a fish. Not complain cause hes going to kill it... Love the discussion.. Is it springtime yet:confused:
