I think I read in KY Afield that the spawning numbers for bass in Taylorsville are extremely low year in and year out. The lake bottom doesn't promote it. Anyone else hear of this?

come down to rough and you can walk across the shad but we can get the bass .
Taylorsville is a tough cookie to crack. The spawn varies form year to year dependant upon water levels , I have seen the years when they have had a tremendous spawn , with it lasting three to four weeks and other years so so. The corps of engineers at Tville are worried about one thing ...And thats flood control and fish take a back seat , and if you live below the **** from Taylorsville to the Ohio river you can probably appreciate that. Fishing in the spring and the fall of the year can be just about as good as any of the other smaller lakes around. I was speaking with the head fisheries biologist for Taylorsville and all there data indicates that there will be a very strong class of 15 inch fish this season.....I hope there data is right . I cant complain though a fifteen minute drive and Im afloat...:) Jarrod
I always think that it's interesting when people talk about the different lakes, one person loves a lake and will do well there and another person hates it and says they cant catch a thing. I fish t-ville a lot and I like the lake and have had some really good days there. On the other hand it seems like all here about is how awesome Cedar is but I have never done any good there. There is no doubt in my mind that it is a great lake I just have not been there on the right day I guess. As far as t-ville goes I for one think it is a great place to bass fish.
I have caught a load of 4 -5 1/2 lbers and one over 7 there but the last two years I cant buy one, we have not been catching many dinks either. There is a ton of structure there but its not where you can see it and we have a load of places with wood in 20 ft plus but most people pound the banks there and thats not the place to be, but with my results the last 2 years what do I know?
I like fishing T-ville if they are easy to catch all the time we would never become better anglers. The lake is tough what they are doing one does not work the next day. Makes you think but that is what makes it fun. Good fishing, Jason
Taylorsville is a fun place to fish you can't really set a pattern but, if you can fish it dont take to long to figure things out. So does Nolin lake or Rough River **** to fish I guess. What about Kentucky and Berkley Lake are they hard to fish to. Maybe some people should get a bobber and a nightcrawler and set on the bank. And stay out of the way or pick up wake boarding cause so many others have on Taylorsville.
T-ville is a fun place to fish. You don't always catch a boat load but that is why we call it fishing. You have to think and there is hardly ever a pattern but that is the fun part about it. Just like any other lake, the fish is there, you have fish hard to find them. Good fishin to everyone.
Taylorsville can be a great place to fish just got to be there when the jet ski 500 isn't running or the one thousand boat, bass tournaments. Always seems to be the guy there with the big block chevy Baja. He comes roaring by about every 10 minutes, the amount of time it takes to get around the lake and back.
Bob has a point. Fishing T'ville can be enjoyable if you go early in the spring or late in the fall. I usually only go on weekdays no matter what time of year it is.
