Re: Why is Bass Pro Shops...
When I turned on my computer this morning there was short film on u tube with Jim Rome. This looked like it was done quite a few years ago. He was doing an interview with Jim
Evert. I don't remember what team Jim Evert played for . Jim Rome kept calling him
Chrisy Evert. Jim Evert told him not to call him that again and of course Jim Rome said he
would continue to call him Chrisy. Finally the guy flipped the table over on Rome and jumped on top of him. I am sure this was not fake. I think you can pull this up on u tube.If
it was fake they did a good job of it.
Jim Everett played for the St Louis Rams, and may have played for other teams but I know he was a Ram for some time. Rome was comparing him to a female tennis star and even called Everett by her name -- Chris Evert. Rome pushed Everett's buttons just a bit too far and I'm pretty sure a lawsuit followed this event. Maybe a broken nose?
This is useless information, but only wanted to post because I remember when it happened. I was a kid and remembered seeing it on ESPN's SportsCenter when it took place. If you ask me, Rome had it coming to him and took a senseless joke a little too far.
Sorry for posting this useless piece of information........:D
Re: Why is Bass Pro Shops...
I used to watch Rome in college and remember seeing that clip when it happened. It was definitely real.

Everett out played his days hence the name "chris" big bad ball player got his feathers ruffeled and tossed the table. Didn't see any punches thrown even when he had him on the ground. Romes a great show tells it like it is and he'll speak his mind. Evertt showed his a** on national tv if it was me I'd took care of it after the camera was off. Rome and other media labeled him "chris". Sticks and stones may break my bones...
