I use a 6'6" MH with a fast rated tip, but i would say that rating is a little off. Its more a moderate/fast action. I am in agreement on the newer style jerk baits. Tey dont require as much effort as older ones. BUt i use rogues and husky jerks mainly, so i like having that MH backbone.

Another month or so and Crankbaits will be more in season. We can practice casting and cranking then. It's fun whatever we are doing.
What rod(casting or spinning) length, action and line do you favor for fishing your jerk baits?
Thanks
spinning- 6'6" med fast tip daiwa team pro w/feugo for smaller jerks like xraps and pointers 78's. Line is 30lb.spiderwire stealth performance braid w/ 8lb invis-x leader.
casting- 6'6" med fast tip veritas w/ the new pro qualifier(carbonlite frame). For larger jerkbaits. Have 40lb sufix 832 superline going to put 10lb vicious pro elite floro leader.
