Re: walleye fishery on the rise in Kentucky?
I'll be trying Carr Creek Lake this spring, and I'll report back here. I am also a huge Walleye fan, and would love to find a consistent fishery here in KY. I've got plenty of experience with walleyes around Ontario, but here in Kentucky I feel like I'm nearly starting from scratch.
I'll be at Cumberland a few times over the summer, hope I catch a full moon. Thanks for the above info guys, very helpful.
Good luck fellow 'Eyenglers!
Re: walleye fishery on the rise in Kentucky?
We have been fishing Laurel River Lake for 'eyes some three years now on a regular basis (average 3 days/week) still no consistent patterns but we're NOT giving up!! :D
There are billions of shad and alewives in the lake, so the fish are so well fed I think this makes it harder to catch "numbers" of fish (not to mention probably tons of crawfish to feed on as well) Well at least that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it!
Re: walleye fishery on the rise in Kentucky?
Like to fish for walleye but the only place that I have been fishing lately is the Ohio river.Don't think I got a one last year but got quite a few sauger in the spring. The fall before got wuite a few walleye along with a bunch of sauger. This past fall was slow fishing to say the most.Would like to start fishing the lakes more.
