Re: This is why the STATE of Indiana is KING in basketball
F I L, where did you play in high school? I might have seen you play. I am trying to think of who the big white kid might be.
LOL Funny story, when I was senior writer for College Talent magazine, I covered the LIT at Louisville Gardens. In one of the first games of the day, Ballard was playing Louisville Eastern. I had seen Ballard on several occasions, including when they won the King of the Bluegrass. I had not seen Eastern play. Ballard was ranked No.1 in the state and in the top 10 in the nation by USA Today. Eastern was not in that class. Needless to say, Ballard won handily but there was a freshman guard that scored 35 for Eastern. This kid could get to the rack on anybody and wasn't scared of Bender and Chiles. The kid was exceptional and I asked Jody Demling, the recruiting writer for the CJ about him. That little skinny freshman from Loisville Eastern is now the NBA All-Star point guard for the Boston Celtics.

I played at Campbellsville High School....We played in the LIT and King of the Bluegrass in 99...I started both tournaments as a sophmore and was scared to death....We lost to PRP in one of the tournaments and Dunbar I think in the other one....We won a couple games in one of the tournaments and one in the other....I can't remember the teams we beat....I think maybe Lville Valley and one team from outta state...We had a guy that was a D1 prospect but things didn't work out

You guys were in the Dec. 1998 tourney. I remember that team I think. That was the year Madison Central won it. If I am not mistaken they had the big center that played at UK. I am sure I watched saw you play.
Re: This is why the STATE of Indiana is KING in basketball
Yeah Marquis Estill....They played in the game before us and I remember thinking how huge he was....they actually had another guy on that team that i thought was a better player than Estill...don't remember his name, but he may have been a junior that year
Re: This is why the STATE of Indiana is KING in basketball
I couldn't remember Estill's name. That team was coached by Darren Feldhaus's brother. I believe his name was Alan.
