Re: Has Fish and Wildlife given up on Cedar Creek?
I doubt they have given up, they are just overwhelmed, and underfunded.
I've been preaching for years that they need to get in on some additional funding sources in order to accomplish their day to day operations effectively...it's really a sad situation.
I did see a KDFWR rig on the Ohio River in Louisville this weekend on patrol. I also saw a KDFWR officer in a truck pull up to the ramp at Cox Park, get out, scan the neighboring park with binoculars and write tickets to two individuals...couldn't tell if they were drinking, smoking, or what the charges were.
Re: Has Fish and Wildlife given up on Cedar Creek?
a little off topic but as i was talking to my stepdad today, he mentioned that some of the guys that work for the state department right down the road said that alot of people have been getting stuff stolen from their trucks, whole trailers being stolen- even using a hitch lock they have been cutting off locks and entire receivers, as well as a guy got his whole rig taken- later found but no boat in sight.
just wondering if there is any truth in this or maybe just a helpful reminder there are a%#holes everywhere?

Brandon, that's why I don't like to launch from Van Buren at Taylorsville. Too much thievery.
Re: Has Fish and Wildlife given up on Cedar Creek?
I spoke with my friend out at KDFWR today about this topic. He suggested, as has already been said here and a few other topics, that if you are witness to any violation to call and report it. You can always call:
1-800-25-Alert. This goes directly to their dispatch. Make sure to get boat number and such of the violator. If you don't have any pertinent info then it won't be of much help. Keep binoculars in your boat so you can read their number from a distance. Take a picture with your cell phone or digital camera for further proof if need be. Be proactive instead of just complaining about it. I had to call them last year when fishing out at Guist Creek. People were skiing outside of the ski zone. They were coming back into Tick Creek. The folks at the marina did not seem to give a hoot about the violations which were occuring almost under their noses. I don't know if a CO came out or not. I was fishing and moving around to different places.
