Re: Ramps On the KY River
not really sure of the name of the ramp.... but if you miss it you go right to perry park resort and golf course..
I almost was afraid to tell him where it was because it's real easy to miss... He may get back on here and say i put him on a wild goose chase...
Yeah I know what you mean. I've never put in there, it's a long steep ramp, and the van I used to pull my jon boat with didn't have the greatest tranny. I was afraid I might not make it back up.
Re: Ramps On the KY River
What is the bass fishing like up there?
it's kinda hit and miss... i've had great days and been skunked..
remember it's a river system , if we've had alot of rain it gets muddy pretty quick and the current gets ripping.. if its your first time there go in the daylight so you can find the ramp for the first time.. evey once in awhile i'll call ky river campground and ask them the condition of the river they normally give a good report as far as current and the color ..hope this helps Larry
Re: Ramps On the KY River
What does the area look like between lock 2 and 3? Is it more of the mud banks or is it the rocky banks? Thanks Ryan.
Re: Ramps On the KY River
I would say this section b/n lock 1 and 2 is 90% mud bank with a few rocky areas every few miles. Last Few years I have caught fewer fish in this part of ky river. Seems like it was better for me about 5 years ago or so. Being a river, its always changing...there is definitely MORE rock bank in the pool b/N lock 2 and 3.
Re: Ramps On the KY River
The ramp between 1 and 2 is in Twin creek. That is the only ramp in this pool except for the gravel below lock #2. Its fine with a small boat but I would not want to try it with anything over 17'. Above Lock #2 is the ramp in Six mile creek which will let you access that part of th river since that pool is not very long.
