Reel Cleaning and Repair

Sorry I know this is late but you may want to save this for future ref. I sent Abu's in for work and received a call saying that they have a program giving 45% OFF retail on new reels in stock. I purchased 2 REVO S Models for $160.39, tax, title, out the door. That's for both not 1. They retail for $129.99 ea. One catch was you had to send them old reels in for trade. I sent them 2 Abu 521's that were 25 y/o. They also mentioned that this is an on-going regular sale.

I'm not sure if this applies only to Abu-Garcia. This was a helluva deal regardless. You can always call them.

I had 4 reels tuned and cleaned by Legend on here. He's a stand up guy and made mine like new. I don't know if he does spincast reels or not, but he did a great job on my baitcasters.

we mailed them with a required signature and also have a confirmation e-mail back from him saying he got them.

It looks like David "found" the reels and is starting to make good on the deal. I'll keep this posted as I get more info..

Also Bump this up, we need to get the word out on the local folks doing reel repair.. I would much rather do business face to face with someone I can trust to get the job done right and in a reasonable time frame than shipping it across country.

Thanks Webby for helping bump this. Reel cleaning and servicing is extremely important in the cost effectiveness of repairs. Catch the problem early and it will cost less in the long run.
