That's funny Sweetwater, but I don't have a wife to worry about. But I still would not like to inherit any "critters" :D
It'll be a bit of a drive whether you stay in Columbia or Campbellsville but as for the nicest you might look into the new Holiday Inn in Campbellsville...I've heard it's pretty nice....As for the lake, it should be good and full Saturday night as I know of 2 other tournaments going on...I'll be out there fishing the R&W night division
Holiday Inn in Campbellsville would be my choice. It's not a terribly long drive from HB and there are a few restaurants nearby too.

For sure the best choice
Holiday Inn would be my choice as well.
Just wondering what it took to win you alls tourny....Took 19.05 to win ours and we were second with 14.5
It took 13.5 to win and 12 plus to finish in the money. Stay at the Dreamland Motel in Columbia and ate at Betty's restaurant. The Dreamland wasn't bad. Only eight miles or so from Holmes Bend and clean. We had to unhook the boat and run the extension cord out out room window, but I'd definitely stay there again. My days the Lucky Vista are over.
The room we had at Lucky Vista last year had mold and an overall dirty appearance. The smoke detector was missing. There were just a pair of wires hanging from the ceiling. A few of the outlets outside for plugging in the boats were not working either.
Where is Betty's and how was the food? What is the menu?
I am glad you enjoyed your stay at Dreamland. Like I said earlier I have never stayed there but I knew they had the lowest rate in town. If you are ever back in Columbia stop and eat at Breast and Butt's BBQ located 1 mile from the sqruare on N55, you passed it on the way to Betty's OK Country Cooking. Breast and Butt's is only open every other weekend and they were closed the weekend you were in town.
As for Betty's hot food bar it is similiar to home cooked food, chicken tenderloin, meatloaf, beans, potatoes, mac and cheese, cornbread and other home cooked food. I seldom eat at the food bar because I always order thier grilled chicken salad which is excellent. They also have a menu with about anything you want. I live in the Holmes Bend community. When you were on Holmes Bend road you were within eyesight of my house.
Both those places sound like a a good place to eat. Might give it a try if we can. I have a tournament on Green with our club the weekend of 18 SEP on Saturday and Sunday. I hope we can find the fish like we did during our last tournament there.
