Re: Breaking News:Bengals trade Ocho Cinco
Mike Brown is super old school.
If Carson wouldn't have come out publicly and demanded a trade and instead done it behind closed doors face to face like a man he probably would have already been traded. Doing it on tv and then running away to California was just a really bad decision and pretty immature on Carson's part IMO,
[U][B]Mike Brown is trying to prove a point, IMO, that point is basically that players cannot dictate to owners how they are going to run their business.

Maybe Carson is on the trading block, for all we know. Anything less than a decent tailback or 2nd round pick, I'd let him sit at home too.
I would like to see someone dictate to Mike Brown the point that he doesn't know how to run his business! Mike Brown is the worst owner, not just in football, but in all of professional sports. The guy that owns the NBA's Clippers makes fun of Mike Brown.
And Bob you are right about the offense putting the D in bad field position. Why they went away from what worked the year before is beyond me. The year they won the division they used the run game to smash the ball and run the clock. The defense was stellar creating a ridiculous amount of turnovers because they were put in good situations. Last season they went to trying to have Carson (who is not the same player he once was) heave the ball down field. To say it didn't work is a huge understatement.
Alright, my wish came true, Ocho traded to a team that already has the number 85 taken:D now that fool will have to change his name again.
I'll bet he ends up wearing 85, if he has to pay whoever has it now!

Lets see, Mike Brown took over for his Dad in 1991.
I know lets hire Dave Shula, 19-52 record, NO POST SEASON
Ok, lets hire Bruce Coslet, 21-39 record, NO POST SEASON
Ok, lets hire **** Lebeau, 12-33 record, NO POST SEASON
Ok, lets hire Marvin Lewis, 60-69 record, 0-1 in Post Season in 2006
112-193 record and 0-1 in post season in 20 years as an Owner, averaging 5.5 wins per season in the NFL.
4 coaches, 1 post season game and that was a loss in 2006. If this is OLD SCHOOL then somebody bring in the NEW SCHOOL!!!! Mike Brown, Marge Schott, Cincinnati Pathetic Professional Owners of Sports Teams. Marvin Lewis should have been fired a couple of years ago, ESPECIALLY after last seasons performance. Now Mike "Old School I am going to prove a point" Brown has a chance to trade a disgruntled QB, who has every right to be pissed off at an Owner who is completely as incompetent as the Head Coach. Palmer is wasting prime years of his career on a franchise that has NO FUTURE. I would demand a trade. Even nutcase Al Davis is a better owner than Mike Brown and that is saying a lot
Re: Breaking News:Bengals trade Ocho Cinco
Elwood, your stats are wrong on Marvin Lewis, he has two division titles which led to two playoff appearances. I don't lay the blame at all on Marvin because of what he has had to deal with since he has been there. They need to let him be GM too and then I bet things wouldn't be so crazy in the front office. IMO Marvin Lewis might be one of the best coaches in the NFL. I mean, if you can take the Benglas to the playoffs twice in four years, just imagine what you could do with an NFL team.
Edited to add:
Marge Schott was the owner when the Reds last won the World Series.

You are correct about the 2 playoff appearances for Lewis. KATIE BAR THE DOOR, with 2 playoff appearances, TWO-2-TWO, we have DOUBLED the number of playoff teams Mike Brown has put together, YIPPEA WHOOHOO. He is still the worst owner in the NFL. As far as Marge goes, I was considering all the crazy and stupid comments she made as owner. These comments downgraded what success the team had over the 15-20 years she was in charge. You take the good with the bad and hope the good comes out enough to overshadow the bad but in the BUNGALS case bad + bad = BAD

Don't misuderstand, I think Brown is the worst owner ever, I was more defending Marvin Lewis. I think Marvin Lewis has done a good job considering what he has to ddeal with. If you put Marv in Lewis somewhere that he had a chance to succeed he would probably win a ring or two.
Re: Breaking News:Bengals trade Ocho Cinco
Mike Brown is the worst NFL team owner.
I completely understand why Carson would want out but doesn't change the fact that he handled the situation the wrong way.
How many times I've had a job and just wanted to quit so bad because the supervisor is a hard butt. Most people just got to **** it up and deal with it until a new job is found or at least put in a two week notice.
I guess things are just way different when your bringing home millions playing a child's games.
