Fishing was awesome today. Worked the Main River in 12 -16 ft with texas Rig creature bait. Hope this kind of fishing stays around for a while love getting the big 3 and 4 lb fish.

Glad I had some time off this week. I spent some time with my 1198 looking around in the deep water. And to my suprise I am finding nice small mouth suspended in about 50 ft of water. I dropped a tube on them and had a blast.

I've fished at least part of the day 9 of the last 12 days. The bite has slowed considerably for me compared to the way it was, although I'd still classify it as good still. I'm sure if you're doing the right thing, in the right place at the right time though you can load the boat.
Went down late yesterday afternoon to the dam area. No wind whatsoever, water was slick, and clear. I fished 5 spots without a bite. Then fished a point and caught 6 little ones with 1 slot 20-25 ft deep c-rigging a finesse bait. They were some of the deepest fish I've ever caught there. It seemed like I reeled forever to bring them up, and one 10 inches long felt like a 2 lber when setting the hook. Then I caught a spot slot on topwater along a bluff. Go figure!
Late evening, I caught a couple of 6s and a 3 on a spoon in the jumps, but they were white with black racing stripes. LOL! I'd get one on and it would take 10 minutes or better to get it in. I would miss out on catching 3 or 4 more while reeling in the one I had on. I might try 2-3 rods at a time this afternoon if I get one on, and the water is still churning with hybrids. A couple of rod holders would be nice for that.

We went to BRL yesterday, and man what a change! The fishing was slow for us at best. I did manage two keepers, but only caught 4 fish total! Big change from last week, oh well. Caught the two keepers on a shad crank in 7 foot of water around suspended shad balls.
