Re: Looking for a vehicle that is economical if there is anything?
I recently averaged 20mpg on a trip over to london ky,from ky lake, pulling a lighter boat 1050 lbs, with a Hyundai and a v6 gas (dont knock it paid for 35,000 miles and 4 years or 25k left).
Conventional trucks ,suv etc normally get about 12mpg,diesel makes sense long distance and weight as in large truck or motor home, bus etc.
I have a friend who has one in a pickup and loves it,my own opinion driving around town etc not that much better in a pickup, going somewhere in say a ryder truck get the diesel.
Oddly ran into a bunch of kayaks over around laurel river,is there or are there some nice chutes to run around there, all had lil lazer lights on the ends sticking out of the truck beds(was dark).
That area is very friendly think I met every cop in a hundred miles, all noticing my tn tags, all wanting to chit chat.
Re: Looking for a vehicle that is economical if there is anything?
I have a friend in iowa who has a equ ipment business and he has 4 dodge diesel p-up trucks. This year he purchased a ford p-up with the 6 cyl ecoboast engine, he pulls a 10000 lb tamdem trailer with 4000 to 8000 lb. of equipment. He is getting 19 to 21 MPG. he now has 2 fords now and has parked 2 of dodge diesel. He has been a dodge diesel fan for 9 years but he is now sold on the fords. Time will tell.
