Re: Mitt's tax info
You guys are funny. Romney spends thousands on cpas to save him money from taxes. Im sure its legal or he wouldnt do it. He uses the system to his advantage as you and I do. He is in a position to pay more like buffet is so the laws need to be changed so he is obligated to do so.;)

Re: Mitt's tax info
Why wasn't this such a big deal that dominated the news when John Kerry was running? He and his wife are worth millions. It's class warfare and it's aweful especially when it's trying to dig dirt on the GOP. So rich people pay their so called fair share then what? Are we out of debt? Doubtful.....so then it would be on to the next class of people.
It's disgusting that politicians attack successful people just to get the party riled up with this smoke and mirror crap. The issues of this country have little to do with rich people. It has more to do with idiotic politicians spending more of our money than they take in. The economy and failed policies of obamy are the issue not getting a few million or billion from rich folks. Since when does giving the gubment more money fix anything??

You and I aren't on the same side of most issues but I do believe this has proven itself to be true... The more tax dollars they collect, the more ways they find to waste them.

I know the local public school system where I live has X-Amount of dollars to spend every year...if they don't spend at least the amount they have, then their spending account will be reduced the following year. I have seen plenty of construction projects get approved just because they had money they "had" to spend.

I didn't start this thread as a Mitt's not paying his fair share post, I just thought it was a bad idea for Newt to push so hard for Mitt to release the info and in the end it will hurt them both and that's why I started the post with a question "Why did Newt push so hard for Mitt to release his tax info?"
Now to the class warfare points and such, I like how you pretend that the right is so above the fray when it comes to using "smoke and mirror crap".
Since you brought up the name Kerry just look at the Swift boat ads against him but I guess that wasn't "smoke and mirror crap" huh and I do remember his wealth being used as a bad thing during that campaign, remember the famous pic of him windsurfing and how it was used?
Also is the story of the 46% of people that paid no federal income taxes that got so much play from the the right not class warfare? I mean all they did was play by the rules that are in place just like the weathly who take heat for not paying their fair share. If you actually look at the 46% that paid no federal income taxes you would see it was composed of the elderly, working poor...... and then look at the people who took advantage of the tax breaks that were mostly implemented by Rebublicans and you can see where a majority of the 46% comes from. Guess that wasn't smoke and mirror crap either.

Re: Mitt's tax info
I don't remember who said it, and I don't know the exact quote, but one of our founders made the comment that if the people of this country realize they can vote themselves money, this country is over. We are real close to 50 % of the population relying on the other 50%. Obviously this isn't what our founders had in mind. I don't think they practiced class warfare. I think that is one of the things they fled when they came here.
One of the key things I've learned during this election season is philosophy. BO and Biden didn't donate hardly any of their massive wealth to charity or church. I assume their faith is in Government to handle the peoples money wisely. Mitt and many others running on the other side donated a lot of their wealth to church and charity. I guess their faith was in God to do with that money whatever brought Him glory. Big difference. Government will always fail. Our God, well I guess I don't need to finish that one. I know where my faith belongs.
As far as taxation, the only reason we are taxed at the rate we are is not because we don't pay enough taxes, but because our Government spends too much. You could take all the money that our wealthiest citizens have and it wouldnt put a dent in the problems we currently have. I heard that BO made the comment that we can't cut anymore because we would be cutting to the bone. Really. He didn't have any problems cutting NASA and turning them into an outreach to the Muslim world. He had no trouble cutting our military even though we are fighting at least one war right now. If conservatives say we need to balance budgets then the other side start with the commercials saying how evil conservatives are because they want to cut first responders. Well I think our fine young men and women are the ultimate first responders and many on the other side cheer when BO cuts the military. I don't get it. The very thing that our constitution says our Government is responsible for is the very thing that many cheer when BO cuts it. I guess those 46 or 48% are thinking they are going to get the money that's cut. Another form of redistribution.

Re: Mitt's tax info
Hahaha the problem I see is that....here we have the potus doing this whining about rich people. Maybe im mistaken but i dont remember Bush bashing people who dont pay taxes??? Did he? Im asking....
The media is wearing this out and you know as well as I do the dems sling mud better than anyone else.
I guess Kerrys wealth wasn't news since he married into money???? I mean why is it a big deal now?? I'll tell you why.....that's how the potus and dems are getting people fired up for more dem party handouts. Get more from the rich so we can solve the problems of the country when in fact it would do very little. I guess when you ran a campaign on change and promised the world but delivered high unemployment, worse debt in history and piss poor economic growth you have to change the subject.
