Lottery Winner still getting and using Food Stamps

As you all know I work in the dept that doles out food benifits, yes it is a shame that she won this much and can keep stamps, this is second case like this, the other won 20 mill and kep food stamps. It is a FEDERAL rule that allowed resources, such as lottery winnings and big cash settlements not to be counted in food stamp case's. Fellows this is the kind of stuuf that gets put into bills that the congress and such vote on. It is absured. They are looking at changeing the policy on this, but it takes federal approval, the states have no control on this. It ***** and I feel your alls pain, I too have to go to gro and see my clients pile their carts high. :mad:

You know........I'd just like to take EVERY dollar spent on food stamps and build community food banks. Every community has folks that qualify for food stamps. Instead of handing out a card where fraud is rampant, MAKE folks go to government qualified food banks. And all they have is FOOD......FOOD that is authorized and approved by the DOA.

This is completely counter to my ideas of GET GUBMENT the hell out of my life, but if I'm going to PAY for mountains and mountains of fraud and abuse, I might as well pay for a few gubment workers to DOLE out FOOD, instead of giving my money away. At least that way I know my money is going towards food and not CRAK, SMOKES, Alcohol, or a big screen TV.

It won't work. All they will do is then sell the food for 10 cents on the dollar and then spend that cash on whatever they want.
