Re: Kentucky. Louisville. National Semi-Final.
One things for sure...the city of Louisville and the state of Kentucky will own I-65 north and south bound this weekend.
Throw all the stats out...who has the deepest bench, who's going pro after their freshman year, who's the MVP of what, etc...past stats don't matter.
I don't expect UL to win the game....but then too, a few weeks ago I didn't expect them to even be in the tournament...Go CARDS!!
And if the Cards don't win I hope Kentucky stays healthy enough to win the championship.
Makes me wonder...will this match up be the most watched game in the history of the NCAA games?
Re: Kentucky. Louisville. National Semi-Final.
No dog in this fight, I'm not a KY native, and I like both U of L and UK basketball fine. That said, the only team in this tournament that can beat UK is UK. They absolutely took Baylor to the woodshed, and will do the same to Louisville unless something weird happens.
For U of L to win, they'll have to play the game of their lives, and UK will have to flop. I just don't see that happening, UK has too much talent, and the coaching to take advantage of it.
Congratulations to Kentucky for having 2 of the final 4 teams, that is awesome.
Maybe I'll just DVR the game, and take the family out to eat...we certainly won't have to wait for a table. Of course we may have to cook our own food because none of the employees will be there.
Re: Kentucky. Louisville. National Semi-Final.
It is great for the state of Kentucky...and I also think we should throw the hate aside as mutual fans and citizens of the commonwealth and celebrate the fact that two teams from Kentucky 70 miles apart are in the Final Four...I mean, even the mayor of Lexington and the mayor of Louisville met in Frankfort today for a little brotherhood and friendly wager on the game.
That's heartwarming.
Then, once we get all that other grabasstic warm and fuzzy hogwash out of the way, long about 5:00 on Saturday we must remember that this is the rivalry game of all rivalry games. And it's for the National Semi-Final. Cards vs Cats in the Final Four...are you kidding me?!?!? Whatever side you're on, you want to beat the other side until total oblivion...no mercy...sweep the leg, Johnny...
You boys keep on thinking that "It was an honor to just be in the Final Four" is going to be salve on the wounds of the fallen after this intrastate battle. It won't. The chance for redemption in a game of this caliber on the Final Four backdrop will likely never come again. It will be talked about and called upon at the onset of every trash-talking episode for the next 1000 years. "Yeah, but we kicked your ass in the Final Four back in 2012..."
But, no pressure. It's just a game. We don't care who we're playing. [insert whatever other "Coach Speak" you want here.]
I have a feeling that this game is going to be so hyped up over the next week that the game itself might disappoint and be a blowout or something...both teams are liable to come out so tight that you couldn't shove a BB up their butts without a pound and a half of Crisco.
If the Cards win, I will will be the first to humbly give them their props and sincerely wish them the best on winning the trophy for the state of Kentucky. They will have accomplished a great feat and will be deserving of the highest praise and fully expected to gloat and rub our noses in it for years to come. Until then, I hope that we totally blitzkrieg them and win by 50. Then we can all hold hands and sing My Old Kentucky Home. lol
I can't wait!!!!!!!!
GO CATS!!!!!!!

I bet every sports bar/(restaurant with tv's) in town will do banner sales that night. One could prolly drive through town at 100mph and run every light and get away with it once the game starts!

I think this is true for UK, but not for UL.
This game features four, maybe five NBA first-rounders vs. none. It's Rocky vs. Drago, Centre vs. Harvard, Douglas vs. Tyson, the 1969 Mets vs. the Orioles, USA Hockey vs. the USSR in 1980.
It's all about expectations. UL has already far surpassed theirs, a feat which is impossible for UK--the Cats can only *meet* their expectations with a national title.

Game, Match, Set...
Gentleman we have a winner, perfectly stated. I love it when UK fans try and make it sound like Louisville is suppose to be as good as UK and it's as much pressure, give me a break. Four weeks ago, we weren't sure Louisville would even be in the tourney, LOL
Uk better hope they win it this year because if they don't win it with this talent level it proves what most of us already know......Cal is a poser and can't coach...
All the pressure ''ALL OF IT'' is on Kentucky....:)

Re: Kentucky. Louisville. National Semi-Final.
David and Goliath....
That windbag Calipari went into some 20 minute speech yesterday about how talented Louisville is, blah blah blah. And if he states the stats about where..''HIS'' team as he calls it ranks nationally one more flippin time I may puke chuncks.
I always thought the Wildcats was the University of Kentucky's team, but according to Mr Ego it's.....''MY TEAM'' to Calipari, he says that every time.

I've played for several coaches, even up into the college ranks, and each and every one of them referred to it as their team....They may not say it in a public press conference, but go play for them....They'll all tell ya if you want to set foot on their d*** floor you better get your a** in gear...and lets be honest, without their permission, the players aren't a part of the team or will never step foot on the floor...When a player or group of players starts thinking its their team, the team usually falls apart...UConn was a perfect example of that this year...Had nearly as much talent as anybody in the country but never put it together due to playing like a bunch of individuals

Re: Kentucky. Louisville. National Semi-Final.
Played a little in my day to. I understand the behind the doors and the floor thing Steven. I totally get that. However in the public speech arena, ''OUR'' is the proper term. I run a shop full of men and I almost never say ''MY SHOP'' or ''MY GUYS''.
In fact I have always percieved that as arrogance and decintion, just my opinion brother that's all...

LOL, Yea I caught that after I said it, wasn't worth changing...
Ya know I actually like to watch a match every now and again especially when Nadal, Federer, Jocivich, ''spelling'' are playing. Any sport played at that high a level and I can get into it...:)
