Re: Santorum wants Romney to use same-sex marriage as a weapon
If gay marriage is permitted in the U.S. the government will go into deeper debt than it is already. Just think of the opportunities for fraud. I can go into the old folks home and marry a guy that's ready to pass just so i can collect on his social security benefits. Not to mention the tax breaks me and my buddy could get if we had a contract marriage. Soldiers can marry each other and collect separate rations and BAH and live in quarters instead of the barracks. Any veterans out there that would like to keep those retirement benefits going for a non intrusive male spouse? We could milk that SBP for everything they got. The government would go under. I chose not to vote for obama because he's stupid. It's the same reason I didn't vote for Hillary.
So at this present time you cannot go into an old folks home and marry a woman that's ready to pass and collect her social security benefits?
Re: Santorum wants Romney to use same-sex marriage as a weapon
Rick Santorum is now encouraging Mitt Romney to use Barack Obama's recent statement of support for same-sex marriage as a political weapon. Santorum says that Obama's point of view shows how he is "very much out of touch with America's values." Of course I disagree, but then again, I'm of the opinion that there's no reason not to allow the monogamous marriage of gay couples. So I thought I'd ask: How potent of a political weapon do you think Obama's recent statement of support for same-sex marriage could be for Mitt Romney? Remember, I'm not asking how you personally feel about same-sex marriage, but rather do you think that people in general feel strongly enough about it that it's going to sway their vote?
Having left leaning relatives in Indy and Ohio, i think it hurts Obama more than it helps Romney. I think it was a desperation move thats backfiring.

Absolutely!

You can't if she's collecting her deceased husband's benefits.
Re: Santorum wants Romney to use same-sex marriage as a weapon
I read something that Obama's "coming out" may cost him some of the black vote.
The whole thing was incredibly well orchestrated and began the flow of millions of dollars from the gay rights lobby, who were holding out.
Doink. Nailed it with the second paragraph. It was all about money.
Biden came out on gay marriage earlier. As usual he sounded like a blithering idiot, and the gay activist purse strings didn't loosen. Mr Obama publicly flip flops on the issue, and the mass media calls it careful consideration of a tender issue. Meanwhile they dig up some prank played on a supposedly gay person by Mr. Romney 30 years ago in high school.
Just like magic the gay lobby money flows into Mr. Obama's campaign.
Re: Santorum wants Romney to use same-sex marriage as a weapon
It was for money pure and simple. That and to keep Hollywood happy because he gets TONS on dollars from those Hollywood freaks. I don't give a crap either way really just don't shoove it down my throat and try and make me embrase it...
BTW, Joe Biden has to be the biggest dumbass I have ever seen as a so called educated man, lol.

My luck I would marry some old man collecting his wife's social security benefits and ended up with nothing! That is incredibly gay!

Joe Biden is an alien. I've said it before, when he smiles it reminds me of the creature after Sigourney Weaver in the movie "Alien".
George Clooney, sadly a guy with Ky roots, just hosted a $40k a plate fundraiser for Mr. Obama at his home. It's estimated to generate 15 million dollars for the Democrat campaign.
Rich Democrats' $40,000 payments raise only a 'fraction' of the 15 mil, the rest comes from an online raffle of a chance for 2 lucky contributors to meet Mr. Clooney and Mr. Obama.
Contributors averaged $23 apiece according to the LA Times,CNN, NY Times, or any other Democrat party news outlet.

Re: Santorum wants Romney to use same-sex marriage as a weapon
I'm a moderate Republican...and there never was a chance in Hell that I would be voting for Obama anyway, so his little coming out party does not affect my vote in the slightest. In my opinion, the Gay & Lesbian community was already largely predisposed to vote for Obama/Democrat anyway....and who's to say that there are really that many Republican swing votes sitting on the fence that were actually going to vote for Obama, but have now retracted due to his new position on Gay Marriage? All in all, it was a move with little political risk, but chocked full of what Obama is looking for right now: DIVERSION. You'll continue to see stuff like this every little bit for the rest of the year that keeps the media tripping over themselves to debate meaningless crap instead of talking about the real problem, JOBS and THE ECONOMY....which Obama fairs much worse against Romney on in a debate. It's smoke and mirrors for the sheep...
Now, as for my opinion on Gay marriage...I say let'em have at it. Like mhall said, don't try to shove it down my throat and change the fact that I'm a guy, I like the lady-business, and I kinda think that's the way the world was designed to work. You don't try to change my mind, I won't try to change yours, and we'll respect each other's position and get on with life. I guess in a world full of hate and violence and struggle, I think the last thing we should be spending energy on is the prevention of two people who love each other from getting married....if that's two girls, two guys, a he-she and a she-he, a goat and a midget, whatever. They have a right to the pursuit of happiness and if that's marrying each other, who are we to enact laws that keep them from doing that when they aren't hurting anyone. If their way of pursuing happiness was randomly shooting passers by with an AK-47 it would be different, but there's nothing wrong with a little more love out there...
They have a right to be miserable in marriage just like the rest of us straight dumb asses...LMAO...

Hahaha dang skippy!.........I do wonder what the next boundary/law is that will be seen as unfair and then challenged when it comes to marriage? More than one spouse? Marriage to relatives? Nothing surprises me anymore......
Re: Santorum wants Romney to use same-sex marriage as a weapon
I'm going to guess marriage to your favorite animal will be next...animals have rights too!
