I really don't have a dog in this fight, but I will say that I think the Asian Carp menace is more destructive. Have you seen what they can do to small to medium sized rivers and streams? If otters are eating machines, we need to put them where these stinkin asian carp are and let them have at them.

What the.... My cute little otter story turned into a kill campagin against the critters. This board is more ruthless than the offtopic board and I didn't know that was possible. LOL
Just kidding of course and I can see how they could do some damage to a fish population if their numbers got out of hand, especially after I saw the size of the white perch that little otter took on.

There is a season on them. Check hunting/trapping guide for dates.

I saw a large otter at Guist Creek Lake a while back. Surprised the heck outta me. I didn't know they were there.
