I bought a spool of invizx over the weekend. I'll be sure to spool it up for this weekend. How much does a spool of invizx cost at bps? I bought it at a gas station at the lake for $18 and I assume the gas station had the price jacked up pretty good.

Buy bulk 1000yd spools from Tackle Warehouse. Just keep it in the house and it will last for a long time. If you keep buying the little filler spools it will break you.
Re: Fluorocarbon problems
I use Trilene 100% and have never had any issues, good stuff.
Re: Fluorocarbon problems
Seaguar Red Label is the best value. I've been using it for 3 years now without any issues.

I agree 100% with this!
Re: Fluorocarbon problems
Only certain knots work with Vanish, trylene knot worked for me but Polymer knot etc. it will break all day long. Seaguar is good but P-line Halo is my favorite it is good line very resistant to abrasion. Both are expensive compared to others but very good line.
Vanish is the worst in my opinion unless you use a certain knot but still why buy a line you can only tie one way.
I was fishing a tournament in Lake Erie 7 years ago with Vanish and found that out because it was all I had. I never bought it again and I see it never changed.
Re: Fluorocarbon problems
I was using a polymer knot when it broke. Right as soon as I switched knots it didn't break anymore. But the line still frayed on me.

Re: Fluorocarbon problems
i have used a few different brands of fluorocarbon and not had any luck with them.I tried vicious, stren, berkly, and just recently tried seguar red label.granted the red label was the most sensitive and strongest i had tried but casting distance was horrible .with my spinning setup a 6,9 ML veritas rod and shimano saros with Pline or Suffix pro mix casting was phenomenal.doing nothing else but using fluorocarbon i lost about 15-20+ ft a cast
I tried using line conditioner and everything with no luck.Perhaps on a bait casting reel throwing heavy cranks it would be fine .But not on a spinning reel for me.I love the sensitivity and the fact that it sinks but i just could not put up with loss of casting distance as on super clear lakes i need as long a cast as i can get
