Re: Ever Feel Like Quiting?
Yes but like many say sometimes Nothing goes right .Today was one of those days for me.I thought perfect day to fish overcast light wind rain coming in .Boy was i wrong at least for me anyway.Went to laurel lake and only managed to catch one fish and that was the only bite we had all day.Started cranking then went to texas rig, drop shot.shakey head and nothing.
So i know completely what you feel like the past 3 weekend trips have been not very well for me .I know it is a mental game and right now it is winning against me .So i plan to take a weekend off and just start fresh next weekend .
Re: Ever Feel Like Quiting?
:-) What time of day are you fishing, noon to 2 pm?
When I get in a rut like that, I take a couple weeks break, then load up in the dark, head to a lake, and just cruise around until I see anything that looks like some surface action. I start out with the game plan that I will only cast to active fish. If I ride around for an hour or 2 finding them, so be it. Good chance to see a nice sunrise, and drink coffee. When I find some, even just a couple, I throw a spook, or a little Heddon prop bait until one crunches it. It only takes one hit, or even a few near hits, to get the anxiety gone.
Went to Cland this weekend with the wife for her birthday. Couldn't get anything to hit the first day, Stripers or Bass. Next morning we went early, and cruised around. Sure enough we found a small bunch of bass busting shad at a bank. 3-4 coasts later and the dry spell was over.
