Wouldn't it be in everyone's best interests and the interests of the site as family friendly, if we just made the rule that anyone who uses or abbreviates the F word took a hike for a month to cool off?
I mean you can be firm, candid, and even vicious with a peron without swearing in public. I'm no saint myself, but why don't we just all subscribe to a higher level.
"2. No Profanity or Foul language. No partial profanity followed by #*@#. We get a lot of young people on the boards and we will not tolerate poor behavior."
Do we apply this rule evenly and to all?
If I "ignore bad behavior" and make a post, how do I see if they are attacking me in public? Do I not have some right to defend myself, and to do that don't I have to be aware of the attack?

Point taken Bob, but then where does it end.
How about the sexual innuendo that exists in quite a few posts.. There is also some implied racism......Also some serious implied and directed homo sexual bashing.
I'm just saying........we say this is an all encompassing "family friendly" site, yet most kids I know today are exposed to 10 x what I imply in the first 30 seconds on a school bus or in home room.
If we're going to gripe and complain about STFU, the we need to gripe and complain about ALL other "implied" situations that may degrade from this family friendly environment.
I will comply however we NEED to comply.

You da man, and I agree. Being out of bounds on any of those fronts makes us less than what we really ought be. We got to start somewhere. :D so lets start with the "F" Felonies......and work into the "missing domeanors". I think as sportsman we'd all agree it's just below us to get into the foul language, racism, sexism thing.
And again, I plead guilty as much or more so than the next guy.
And before anybody else says it,,,,,yep this kettle is calling the pot black. A guy don't have to be perfect to figure he can improve.
We all bring so much to the board so much info, and so much help to each other.

I'm as guilty as the come.
I will try to refrain from that, and other questionable language...but I will STILL hammer on boneheaded things that drive me crazy..... :) :)
