I can't understand why Kentucky fans are so worried about U of L's football coach. If Strong is so terrible they should be glad we still have him.
It's not as difficult to be profitable when you have a sweetheart deal on a taxpayer funded arena.
Uh, they were the most profitable basketball program in the country when they played at Freedom Hall and had to schedule around cow farting contest and truck pulls. Nothing has changed. It has nothing to do with the new arena and everything to do with having the best A.D in America, who knows how to manage not only the success on the court/field, but also how to manage money.
As for the arena, it is not U of L's fault the arena has not made the projected profits. After all, it is packed for every Louisville men's game and the women's program are also one of the tops in attendance. It is okay to be bitter/jealous but at least do a little research on the subject first.
If you really want to blame someone, blame the morons at the state fair board, they have been unable to capitalize on the finest arena in the country. It got so bad they got a pink slip!
Dude are you serious....Who is a better choice that would actually take the job right now..Who?
Also he took a completely DESTROYED product and has it in a BCS bowl game in three short years. Will they get killed by Florida, sure they will but he still has them there. Also he is recruiting his tail off and is getting butt loads of three and four star kids with Teddy being the anchor and has more than proven himself as the Five star projected athlete from High School. Most of the time Michael you make great sense, but this last statement makes you look foolish, not the University of Louisville. It's a pay and reward system....You pay and you get the reward. Financially I bet they don't loose on this but will make money. I to think these salaries are just crazy stupid I agree man, but it is the world in which we live Bro and it isn't gonna change anytime soon, only going to get worse.
You really think his resume deserves paying him as the 3rd highest paid coach in the country? (And 3rd highest might be wrong. I heard that somewhere and don't really care enough to look it up).
I'm not saying he's not a good coach or that I'd not even want him at him at UK. I'm just saying that I think UL is over paying for him and they might as well have gone after Saban or Gruden or some coaching stud for that kind of cash.
Happy for you Card fans but sad he isn't coming to the SEC. I wanted to see him against more SEC schools. Oh well in coaching things change each year so who knows what will happen next year?!?!?
I have an idea. Let the good ol tax payer folks of jefferson county pay all the bills for the yum, but we get to keep all of our tax money and not send any of it out to the rest of the state.
Sounds fair to me.
Who wants to go to the kfec and pay 8 bucks to park and then go to a cow barn? Not me.

Gruden is not interested in coaching college ball again, his words not mine. He may change his mind some day but not now he says. NO WAY Saban leaves the Mother ship of college football right now, come on man.....
There isn't another coach of Charlie's caliber available. And here's the thing he's
out recruiting some SEC schools right now. Kids love this guy and want to play for him. Use your same logic on your basketball coach.

I think he will be somewhere around 8th overall, which I would say is reasonable. With what he inherited from "He Who Shall Not Be Named" he has done a top 10 job overall. So I really have no problem with him getting paid that well.
Saban cost about $2 million more a year, so you are looking at paying a whole lot more and getting Gruden, when he has stated numerous times he is not interested in coaching in college, is a pipe dream. In reality, it was a great day for U of L. It sent a message to the so-called big boys that the Cards are playing for keeps.
As for getting him at UK, you guys are an also ran in the world of college football until you stop stealing money from the SEC and upgrade the facilities (not just talking about the stadium here, all your football facilities are garbage) you will never land anything but an over -the-hill coach, or a hot shot coordinator trying to move along quickly. Tom Jurich has decided to try and not be that type of program, and as someone who spends a lot of money on U of L athletics, I applaud him.
