Sometimes in current you just have to leave in gear. When on my boat I only use my clicker on windy days when rear end swings side to side.
I have a large Shakespere spinning real that has an adjustable clicker; pretty cool.
Tekotas and Penn 209 both have a stiff clicker.
For the money I love my abu blackcat series sold through catfishnation.com. They change the color series every year but its the same real. Lighter clicker though.
So after looking at the pics where is the bait clicker switch located? The switch I thought it was was just the gear switch.
It's on the non-handle side, see pics at the link.

Okay, here is the deal, it's Christmas. For $25, you get BOTH rods and Reels shown in the pictures at the link to try. Take both home for $25, and try them both for 30 days. If you decide you want BOTH, just mail me $25 more. If you don't want one of the 2 rods or reels, PM me, or call me, and we'll figure out someway to get one returned to me.
My mobile phone is (270)735-7814, I live in Elizabethtwon KY, about 40 miles down I65 from Lville.
So just last summer "the man" and I started catfishing on the Ohio river. We didn't do very well but we also were learning as we went. As far as how and where to find bait then good places to set up to fish. But one problem we had was the clickers on most of our rods were to light to hold off the current so we couldn't leave them on. So I'm wondering from you serious cat fisherman what is a good current clicker reel? We each have a ambassador that seems to do ok. Just curious on what you guys think? Any help is appreciated as far as reels or just tips on fishing the river. Thanks
abu garcia 6500 or my preference is the 7000 c3 pretty stout clicker, I used to use clickers but I mostly drift anymore, penn also has some pretty good clickers on their reels like the 320 and its half the price of the 7000 but I still prefere the 7000
