I have a Humminbird 500 series with GPS/maps.
I've been tempted several times to buy Navionics maps. Maybe asking too much, but does anybody have link where I can see before and after pics of what the screen looks like with a Navionics may of an area running, vs what it is like with the installed maps that come with the fishfinder.
Maybe even some screen pics, on with the Navionics and one without?
Thanks in advance, it would help me see if I could really use it.

can you give a detail.
IM curious as to what under water structure upgrade you noticed.
I have a hard time understanding what bridge, road, or creek bed, they now know about that they didnt know about 12 months ago. Thanks for taking the time
A new top water structure dock, ramp, bouy, etc, after the older chip was marketed is understandable, if you can explain would be a big help

Bob, I don't have any pictures but a good chip will show you more contour lines and underwater habitat like stump beds and such as Geo said...

me being a little slow at times, took 45 mins to upgrade my chip and 2 hours to figure out how to unlock the dang SD card so i could. the little white sticker than came on the chip covered up the switch on the side to unlock the chip so i could download. Fyi it wont let you upgrade unless you unlock it.

I just fired up the pc app and it told me there are new mapsets to download........I think they update this think every week or so.
I'm downloading now.......I definitely like the app. You can do quite a bit of planning, and if you have a navionics app on your phone, you can send stuff there. AND when you use the info on the pc app, you can transfer whatever you "create" to the map in your finder. WAY cool stuff.
WAY COOL.

IMO it is worth the 75 bucks to upgrade. Thanks for bringing the subject up. FYI the upgrades are only good for one card. IF you have a card up front and one at the dash you have to pay for both. I upgraded my dash unit figured thats where i would use it the most.

I purchased another map for the front finder........with a new purchase you get one free download of their 60 dollar map program. I downloaded that too.......
It is pretty cool.....better than the version I used to use.
