Abortion is most of the time a hot button for hard liners to seize onto but it is quite amazing how quickly they are willing to throw the kid under the bus in the name of cutting benefits to 'welfare losers' after these kids exit the womb... It's wrong to abort the fetus but it's ok to starve the kid just because it happens to have loser parents... If you are not willing to take the kid into your home and raise it then shut the hell up.

Actually - there are plenty of people - mainly evangelical Christians - who are willing to do just that. Often they have to wait 9 months to a year for even a domestic adoption to happen. The problem is not that there aren't good homes; the problem is, the kids are either aborted, or not put up for adoption.
I believe that is correct in as far as newborns are concerned... As kids get older it gets tougher to find homes for them when they are taken out of homes that are deemed unfit for some reason... I'm sure there are statistics if somebody wished to look but there are a good many kids in foster care that don't find their way into caring homes... A good many kids aren't put up for adoption at birth and end up in the system later... If all unwanted pregnancies were put up for adoption then it is doubtful abortion would be the issue that it is but unfortunately they are not... I believe it is a lot tougher to find homes for special needs babies and it seems the right to life crowd object to these abortions also.

Racial politics plays a big role in this, unfortunately. There's no easy answers.

This type of thinking is exactly why 1.2 million + babies are murdered each year! Typical bait and switch socialist bulls h it.
Please continue to blame everyone who oppose killing babies because they won't change their lifestyle due to the lack of
PERSONAL RESPONSIBILTY of others. To accuse those who oppose killing babies of wanting to see kids starve is ridiculous.
Never ever blame the one who continues to breed like rabbits, or scum, and gets tax payer funded abortions. Of course it's those evil, god fearing Christians fault. If you don't believe in PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY and preach it then shut the hell up.

And when personal responsibility fails and there is an unwanted child just how does chastising the parents for their irresponsibility help the child but you did your job by raising so much anti-abortion hell as to make it hard on the irresponsible adult that now you have another welfare loser that you hate so much...good job.... Apparently you have more feeling for the fetus than you do for kids already born.

What about steralizing the irresponsible parents, or would that interfere with their " right " to procreate? What about the rights of the child/fetus?
One of the problems with the kids in Foster Care is that the State wants to keep them in the system as long as they can. They would rather you become a foster parent than to have you adopt one out. Their "Department" loses money on every child adopted.

I see what your saying but I don't believe they are so easily connected. Not all abortions are by crack head slum junkie losers. Some are by white, yellow, black and brown middle America young adults or teenagers. These kids would most likely not be on gubment assistance and be cared for by some responsible adult in the family. Maybe have the parent move home with their parents to help? Happens all the time.
The hard liners from the left make it seem that it's always black inner-city poor folks getting abortions whose parents are on gubment assistance and no one else it's just not accurate. It's the typical group all folks into the most emotional hard case situation to get their point across tactic by the left. Just like gun control....

There are a good many of those but the point emphasized by a good many of the folks on the right-to-life side is abortions paid for with tax dollars and it would seem to me those would be welfare cases but in either case I lean toward the side of the equation that gives the choice to the female who is pregnant... I would rather my tax dollars go to aborting an unwanted pregnancy rather than having to add it to the welfare rolls after it is born and as far as judging someone who is having an abortion and paying for it themselves, that is simply none of my business.

A fetus is a living human being not yet mature enough to be viable outside the womb. It doesn't cost one cent for the female to keep her legs together. Birth control pills are cheap when bought through the health department; condoms are also inexpensive. I don't understand why anyone has to become a 'welfare loser' just because they had a baby unless that was their intent from the beginning. Jobs are available to them just like they are to everyone else. Put the kid into daycare and go to work. Doesn't the father have some responsibility to help the mother support the baby? He shouldn't be allowed to impregnate the female and then just walk away.
I am the mother of an adopted daughter and it doesn't cost a mint for an American adoption; mine cost less than $500 at that time. I will never understand why some people will spend $25,000+ to go overseas and adopt a foreign baby just because it looks exotic or so they can brag. There are plenty of American babies that are in need of two loving parents right here in the United States.
I have seen my husband less than a week all year because he is away working; paying taxes that help support some nasty ho who has 8 kids by 8 different men. That's a whole year out of my life without my husband but he had rather have a good job, fulfilling his obligation to WORK and support his family, and not expect taxpayers to take care of us.
Say what you will but the day will come when the female (no mother) and baby killing doctors will face God and pay for murdering those precious innocent babies. Write my name at the top of your list of anti-abortion Christians.

I'll put your name on the list of right-to-lifers who seem to have no answer except to shake your finger and say "shame on you" who would rather pay higher taxes to support a kid that nobody wants rather than let somebody do with their body whats none of your business and if you see it as your business because your tax dollars might be paying for an abortion then your math skills are very poor because an abortion would seem to be a lot cheaper than 20 years of supporting a child on welfare that nobody wanted in the first place, you can't un-ring the bell, after it rings all the finger wagging you can do won't un-ring it.

I often wondered: What if the law said:
1. Medically necessitated abortion, where it is shown as the only method to save the mother's life is allowed. The mother has the right to decide if she wishes to save the life of her offspring and sacrifice her own life in so doing.
2. Non-medically necessitated abortion, where the female is a victim of rape, is allowed for the purpose of sparing an unwilling victim from suffering the financial obligations and responsibilities forced upon her when victimized by a criminal assailant.
3. Abortion, elected stricted due to a lack of desire to shoulder the responsibilitites of parenthood is authorized only if the mother and farther of the aborted child are neutered and rendered incapable, medically of concieving further offspring. The intent is to insure that farther unwanted pregnancies and child abortions will not occur.
In Bob's language:
#1 says: It's okay to spare a life, even if it means taking a life. It's okay to give up your life to save another.
#2 says: Victims don't have to live with what a criminal did to them. If my house is burnt down, I don't have to live in the burned out ruins.
#3 says: You know the gun is loaded, and if you shoot yourself, you feel the pain. That doesn't mean we have to let you shoot others later. The first mistake doesn't guarantee you nor allow you the right to make the mistake again.
OMG........Is the bullseye on my forehead now or what?

Where do the people who "breed like raibbits and **** up welfare", get the money to pay the doctor for the abortion?
Maybe we ought go after the pay-day loan companies next.........
