That rule has nothing to do with who is in office, it was instituted on base after the soldier in Iraq killed five of his comrades.
Btw what is the deal with car dealerships?
Really! when did that happen? The rule of registering your weapons on post started 1 Jan 13. Why would they need to know where I store my weapons off post? I can see having a back ground check done but why 2 background checks. One to use French range and another to hunt? I guess I'll just bow hunt Ft Knox.
During the Bailout of GM , they had to decide which dealerships to close. It just so happens that those dealerships that opposed Obama were closed.
During the meltdown, Obama and his minions were the decision makers on WHAT dealerships for Chrysler and GM were left open.
Favoritism and political games WERE played.

Tim, I think someone is pulling your leg on that story about a soldier killing 5 other soldiers. I cannot find any record of it. The word is that the General is anti gun. He is the only General commanding Ft Knox in the last 20 years that didn't buy a hunting license.

Actually he is a Cadet Command guy. The HRC guy actuaally eased the restrictions on hunting at Ft Knox. That incident happened in 2009. It's 2013 and this guy wants guns registered on post that are stored off post. Sounds like they want to know where your guns are stored. It makes me think.

Tom, I stand correctged. I didn't realize the new restrictions that went in place January 1st. I do remember that there were some hoops to jump through that were added in 2009. I thought that waqs what you were referring to, My mistake.

No Biggie, Things are changing fast now a days. But there does seem to be an extra effort put forth to make it inconvenient for people that enjoy hunting and fishing. We have a liberal administration in charge and it looks like they want to pander to their constituency. We'll just have to deal with it until it fails or is changed. Whatever comes first. At the rate it's going with the handouts it will turn out like social security and there will be more takers than givers. Then what's gonna happen? They already mentioned shutting down the fish hatchery at Wolf Creek dam about a year ago. My impression of what they are gonna do is make it too expensive to hunt and fish, just like in Europe.

I agree that you cannot trust anyone in office right now, but trying to close down Wolf Creek Hatchery was first brought up around 1995. I actually went down there and wrote a magazine article about it. I will see if I can find a copy of it and let you know the dates, but that was the first time I remember hearing about it.
I agree that hunting and fishing are more expensive, but I think hunters and anglers are making it more expensive.
