Go to bluewaterled.com
you can find all your answers there and they will be more than happy to work with you over the phone. They will even help with your install questions. As far as which battery to run off of, it makes no difference because of the low amp draw....you could run them off of a nine volt battery!
you should check out the moonlite, nuclieye or punisher black lights. I have a moonlite full moon in my 18 footer & it gives plenty of light. I myself will go with Bluewater a little later on as they are the best thing going for boat lighting & blacklights. Mike Delao that owns bluewater will treat you right.
IDK if they are the best thing for bass boats but they are good. I just don't like sticking stuff to my boat so I went with a different brand set up. You have to have a removable rub rail though.
I went the cheap route. I've got 4 Bearkley blacklights mounted to my trolling rod holders on my Tracker their about 29.00 each. I also wired plug outlets on each side of the boat to keep a tangle of wires from the lights. Works great and the lights stay in place while running. You can also use blacklights that run on batteries their used for finding pet stains they run about 12.00.
Gonna get some lights from bluewater, my question is one 40and inch strip enough for l side of 18 ft john boat, this is set up like most bass boats with front and rear casting decks. One set comes with 2 40 inch lights, do i need a set for each side?
