Better to be cautious. This is what happened at Pandora last year. That is a Lincoln Navigator with the trailer attached. And thats after a few minutes of winching to get that much of the roof to show. I have a video of most of the extraction. Not something you see everyday, but it happens.
Thanks for the reply Carter1. I'm not gonna get to go this weekend, but your reply makes me feel better about the ramp. I guess I just got overly concerned when the steepness of the ramp was brought up. There are ramps at Herrington that are steep (Cane Run ramp and Herrington Marina ramp and the hill at Gwinn Island) and I was thinking that was that they meant by steep. I won't even launch at the above mentioned ramps
You don't need to worry about the ramp at willisburg when you do get to go, it's not bad not sure why people have so many problems with it. Do not understand the Gwinn island thing though that is the easiest ramp at the big nasty to put in on IMO.

I have never had any problems at Willisburg but the ramp does look very intimidating, the pictures don't do it justice. Its not the hill for the ramp that is intimidating looking its that the ramp does a nose dive right at the water. Just keep your rear tires out of the water and will be just fine
How did that Navigator end up in the water?

I talked to a lady who witnessed the whole thing and she said as he got close to the point where he was to stop...the boat and riders left the trailer and he suddenly got faster and in the water he went. Luckily he had his windows down because he went down with the rig. Other people there said that they overheard something about his brakes malfunctioning????? The thing I thought was very strange was that after they got it and the trailer out and towed off, the people got on the boat to spend the rest of the day on the lake. Overheard that the navigator belonged to his grandfather.

I was there yesterday and just as most people have said, your only issues should come when loading the boat. I just pull the truck up a little until the nose of the boat comes up over the roller. Then you may have to use a little muscle to wrench it in. By the way, the water is a little in the trees, the lake is murky, temps are at low 80's, everyone look to be catching pan fish, the bass wouldn't look at a crank bait for me. Little finesse worm and jig did the trick. When you get a bass bite, be sure to land em, there wont be bunch.
