Ah the PX
First time at a post exchange,1945, Wendover field Utah, step dad was career. Ft Carson Co. got some tackle to go trout fishing up in the mountains. Baumholdr Germany, bought some fishing tackle and rods and reels. There was an officers trout stream that we found on a training excersice, A long walk, but nice fishing. We used to study the topo maps, and found a great spot, the post limit on te river side was a sanctuary, we would rapal down the bluff, and were never bothered, we never kept any fish either.

I also remember as a child at Christmas time the excited feeling I would get when the Sears and Roebuck catalog came out. I couldn't wait to look at all the toys in it. The as I got older and more into hunting and fishing I could not wait to see catalogs showing all the hunting and fishing gear.
I fished basically my whole life from about 4 years old. I'm 50 now. When was this??? Did I miss it??? Hahahaha all I remember is small plastic boxes or a box of assorted hooks. Maybe it's a regional thing?? Pretty much grew up in Florida and South Carolina. Just asking:)
Like you said, you're 50. Memory is the second thing to go! Girls aren't interested in you anymore when the first thing goes! And I don't mean your hair either!
