The point is that we shouldn't judge another persons inner motives, their heart so to speak, and we certainly should not use ourselves as some sort of standard for any judgment. Basically these verses in Mathew 7 are teaching us not to use hypocritical, self-righteous or unfair judgments. Everyone probably knows that self-righteous overly critical and judgmental type of person that this passage is referring to.
However there is such thing as genuine righteous judgment which we are to exercise using careful discernment. Matter of fact only a few verses further in verse 7:6 we are then instructed[I] “Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces." [/I]How can a Christian obey that verse without properly using righteous judgment and careful discernment? Mathew 7:1 and 7:6 are not contradicting each other, but instead along with the rest of the verses giving us the proper context of what is actually being taught, which can be an entire bible study all itself and not something we can fully explore in this forum.

You can judge me all you want, here I'll get you started. I'm outspoken to a fault, probably drink too mnuch Beer at times, try and be a loyal friend to all my friends, make an attempt at being a good husband and fall woefully short sometimes. Always tried real hard to be a good Dad but wasn't stellar in some areas. Hard worker at the same job for going on 33 years. Hsve never really shirked a duty or at least tried real hard not to. I HATE laziness and anything associated with it. Don't really like this whole liberal movement in this country and pretty much think most of America has been dumbed down and softened up to pussy status.
I wish I could control my emotions better sometimes and need to work on that. I'm actually a decent outdoorsmen and striving to be better.
How am I doing so far??? I understand my faults and acknowledge them but MANY and SEVERAL on this site that don't do well in that arena..........;)

Well ok then, I suspect your post could be said about most of us, might have to change some of the details, I would suspect somebody getting on tv and pointing those out and yes "judging you" on them might irritate you some which could be said about Mr. Robertson.... In my opinion Mr. Robertson used poor judgement in speaking as he did and he was fired for it and half the right wing is up in arms because the "left" is denying him his freedom of speech rights, the only action that was taken here was by the business he worked for which by the way, they had every right to do.

I disagree with two of your statements 95% of the right is up in arms and the business does not necessarily have the right to fire him. A business can not discriminated against an employee. I know the Robertson's have the money to hire good lawyers and if they can find where an actor said something controversial and were not suspended or even worse if an actor said something basically along the same line and were not treated the same then A & E will be paying a huge sum of money to Phil.
Now with that said unless I missed something he has not been fired just suspended, which is the correct action they suspend him during their investigation and if they decide that they should not fire him they can reinstate him with back pay and Phil has little recourse.
I totally agree with Phil about Gays and I can't add much more to the points of this thread.....Something so simple is deemed offensive by the network but other networks want you to see Miley Cyrus twerk her goods on tv. I guess that network exec likes girls and the A&E exec is a homosex.

A&E has the right to do what they want with their network. (Though I doubt they realize what a shift storm they've created.)
Phil has the right to state his feelings on any matter he chooses. For whatever it's worth I figure 98% of we men out there agree that a vagina is preferable to a man's anus.
They're stupid enough to choose 2% of the population over the overwhelming majority of the rest of us, I have the right to remove A&E from my favorites list and tune their dumb asses out...Just like I do to that brown eye loving parade of male pooseyes on CNN and MSNBC who are calling ole Phil 'vile' and 'disgusting'.

We need a like button. A&E can do what they want. I will support Phil and his family. If he came out for gays it would not have been a problem. Hate that cause I love the show.
