RE: Basscenter gets the AXE!
Hey Scott,
Do you get the Outdoor Life Network too? Old Hank is rerunning some of his old shows on this network with a different name. Pretty smart. I know these shows have to pay the network to get their show on air, but if you can get enough sponsors and commercials sold to make a profit, it's great thinking... two for the price of one, so to speak.

RE: Basscenter gets the AXE!
The FLW has lower entry fees at all levels than BASS and the paybacks are about the same. FLW gets more air time on FSN than BASS does, (2 shows for each FLW tournament). FLW has a much better set up than BASS as far as weighins and things for fans and family to do.
Take it from someone who has fished both.

RE: Basscenter gets the AXE!
i can't stand what espn has done to the BASS anymore than anyone else, but i'll keep my subscription to the magazine because it is a wealth of information. i can't remember an issue in the last 5 years that didnt have several things in it that got my attention. BUT if i knew of any other magazine that gave out that kind of info i would switch it in a hearbeat.
RE: Basscenter gets the AXE!
Yes sir, I get OLN as well. Nothing like hunting and fishing shows 24/7 !!! I'm really big on the racing and offroad programs they throw in there too!
RE: Basscenter gets the AXE!
I've been disappointed with something and this seems like the perfect post to vent my frustration. It was mentioned earlier that FLW was more of a family deal. I can't agree more. When the FLW have their weigh-in's at the Wal-Mart in Benton, I always take my girls ages 14 and 9. They always have fun, from the trout pond to all the free stuff they give away. You can even rub elbows and chat with some of the big names in the sport of fishing. When I heard ESPN was coming to Ky. Dam I got excited along with the girls. WHAT A MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT!!! There was nothing. A few booths set up with over priced baits and motors. To be able to talk with a pro fisherman, you had to stand with several others next to a barracade and hopefully get a glimpse. I'll be very lucky if I can talk my girls into going to another weigh-in, FLW or not!
Thanks for letting me vent.
RE: Basscenter gets the AXE!
You make excellent points. But think of the family side BASS is bringing to the table. Your kids can get some time out of school to attend the Classic with you!!! I mean, it is the "SuperBowl" right? Gotta go see that... and take those girls.... we need more diversity in fishing, and so what if they have to miss school!!
LOL
BTW, I figured I better explain.. this is a sarcastic post!
