Re: I'm Seriously considering leaving
It's post like the one below that ruin fishin.com. Seriously calling Oboma names is not any different that calling any other fishin.com member a name like scubbag.
PL said that msgmills was a bad guy and now I am seeing why he thinks that way.
why don't we all grow up and start acting like men instead of 4 year olds. Sticking your tougue out at Obama won't stop him from getting votes.
I know you are not a bad guy MsgMills as I have read a lot of your posts that were not political and you seemed like a good guy in those posts.
Normally I would repond to the post below with in kind message but I am thinking that wont' do any good anyway. So I am trying a new approach this morning. Trying to apeal to your sense of responsiblity.
I have a good idea. Why don't we all take the political discussion to some other web site that deals with political talk only? Then we can have fishin.com to talk about fishing and non political and non religious things. I guess that's being too ideal but it's something I would like to see.
I went and purchased $3.00 worth of minnows. Three bucks gets about 6 dozen minnows or 1/4 lb of minnows. I caught about 8 to 10 white crappie and gave them to some folks that were bank fishing. They told me that they had been fishing for about 3 hours and only had caught on turtle in the entire time. They were happy to have a few crappie to take home and eat. Since I had my boat there it was relatively easy for me to get around the 90 acres lake and find the fish. It helps in that I have fished this pit and learned the lake's hot spots. I may take the boat out again today and see what's up at Patoka.

Re: I'm Seriously considering leaving
If someone posts a viewpoint that you disagree with, attack the viewpoint, not the poster. Isn't that the essence of "respect?"
Reading people's posts in the fishing discussion boards, you almost feel like you get to know them a little bit. That's why I find it interesting to have this forum where we can see how those same people feel about non-fishing issues. But if moderating it gets to be so much trouble that it interferes with the fishing discussion, then I wouldn't care if they totally blew away the Off-Topic part altogether. This is first and foremost a fishing board, and a great one at that. For instance, I have a folder on my computer called "fishing files," and in it is a new text file called DStewartCRigTips.txt. Dave Stewart went to the trouble of typing up a summary of how to rig and use a Carolina rig, and freely shared that information on this board. He didn't have to do that; he gets paid for dispensing fishing advice. But he did, and now I have it saved, so that I can refer back to it when I want to use a C-Rig (It's strictly for my own use, and I certainly will NOT redistribute it!). I have a few other files like it. This site contains a wealth of fishing information, and THAT is what I come to fishin.com for. If the political discussion puts that in danger in any way, then it needs to go away.
Dave, I want to thank you for all you do on this board. You really go above and beyond the call, and I hope you know that it is appreciated.

MsgMills: Clyde, I consider you a friend but I posted an alert on your name calling of Senator Obamam. Sorry, but I think that is inappropriate. I'll report friends as quickly as any one problem poster.

Re: I'm Seriously considering leaving
Thanks everyone who feels that I have disrespected Obama...I truly feel that he is a thorn in the sides of the American people and my views are my views only and no one else's. This man is trying to pull the wool over the eyes of the American people and I feel that it is my right and duty to see that I open the eyes to his devilish plan....
Sorry if I have offended those who read my posts about this inexperienced man running for the Highest Office in the land. but I still feel that he is a pawn being used by the Democratic party to get their hands on the Presidents Office. To try and rule the People they seem to have hypnotized into thinking that this man is their great next thing.....
Take Obama away from a Teleprompter and he is a lost child that can't even give a good answer to a simple question......With a teleprompter telling him what to say for each question he's asked, he delivers the nicest smooth sounding responses to any question asked of him. His policies are the ones of the Democratic Party and not his own...For which I hate to say he still doesn't realize he's being used and will continue to be used over and over again......

Excellent statement and view of your opinion. All said without name calling. This is the type of discussion we need.
Re: I'm Seriously considering leaving
Clyde,
It's no secet that I think the same as you. I'm convinced that he is not good for the United States. His Iraq and European tour was a joke and my hope is that it backfires (I hope!).
I also hope that Dr. Dobson endorses McCain and brings the Conservative group together and rallies behind him. That endorsement will bring alot of momentum to his camp.
On another note: I have enjoyed the debates and I actually learned more about both candidates because I would research some topics as they were noted on here. So for me there was a productive side to all the posts. Hearing another americans view on political topics is always interesting when you think about it. Two people can see the same thing and take it differently almost everytime.
Being in management I have to listen to alot of problems and even though people swear by their beliefs the evidence never lies and it leads to the truth. I think about that when I look at politics, trying to find the truth there is a tough one. So it comes down to what they have done in the past and I also realize that you DO judge people by the company they keep and you DO use your gut feelings based upon your own life experiences.
Sure the speeches, his race and talking heads can sway a persons vote but when you take a step back each side is saying the same thing about the otherside. So who's right? A slick young black politician who knows how to work a crowd and stands for alot of what I'm against, been associated with some aweful people or an old white veteran/politician who has had alot of life experiences and stands for some of what I believe? It's easy for me and I think as the debates startthe country will see what these guys really stand for.
Re: I'm Seriously considering leaving
A Little Levity for all
In the name of Reverend Wright, Obama, and Bill Ayers we pray. Obama hear our prayers.
Our Obama, who art in Washington,
Hallowed by thy children.
Thy Presidency come,
Thy Legislation be done,
In Washington as it is in Chicago.
Give us this day our daily gas ration,
As we repent for our carbon addiction.
And lead us not into trepidation,
But deliver us from George Bush.
For thine is the Presidency, the Congress and the Supreme Court.
For eight to ten years.
Obamessiah.
Re: I'm Seriously considering leaving
