Re: What ever happened to the bluegill?
Just over 5 and a quarter million walleye fry were stocked in Patoka. It is great to hear that they are doing well.
Musky would work in Patoka, but they also eat bass....and everyone knows what happens when you stock a fish capable of eating a 4 lb. bass in Patoka....
I was told that they still bring up some pike during the surveys, but they are deep and in the timber usually.
Re: What ever happened to the bluegill?
Here's an excellent report from a few years back that details the reduction in population and size in bluegill after the shad introduction in 94.

I asked Carnahan about this and he said they haven't taken on in 4 or 5 years. Sure would like to see some Musky or tiger musky in the lake.
Re: What ever happened to the bluegill?
I was a boy but i remember see the pike and they were trophy. Is it a case of reproduction or poor fish mangement? We don't fish like they did back then we know things will change good for the shad and stripper bad for the bluegill and crappie. Now the question is who do you make mad!!!
