Re: A great day for our country
"I don't see why people not in agreement with the policies of the new Pres elect is a problem?"
Its not. Not seeing eye to eye with our elected officials, of any party, is the American way. Its one of the freedoms that makes this country great. The problem is in the fear mongering, hate, and lies that folks throw. The "he is not my president", "he is a Muslim who hates whitey", etc. kind of crap that is thrown around. Seems that people spend too much time getting info from bogus emails or fat, junkie talk show hosts and don't bother checking other sources.
"Dont' put this guy on a pedestal he will fail if you do."
He is a politician, certainly NOT someone to put on a pedestal. Like I've said before, I'm not buying all that he is selling either, just willing to give him a chance to prove himself. Had McCain, or one of the 3rd party candidates for that matter, won, I would have given him the same chance.
"I'm not calling you a liar or anyone else but when you Libs say you gave Bush a chance I doubt it. It's easy to say that now but I'll bet your paycheck that you griped about him during his first term, come on think about it."
I'll freely admit that I was not happy that Bush got his first term. I did not like his policies and did not think he was right for the country. I still gave him the chance to prove me wrong. During his first year in office, we had 9-11. He got off to a shaky start with that one, but I think he did the right thing in dealing with the Taliban, and then going into Afganistan when diplomacy failed. I fully supported him at that point and thought my first impressions of him were wrong. Then he started to grow the government, spend more-borrow more, started an illegal war in Iraq before finishing the job in Afganistan (where the real enemy was), started a record deficit, further polarized the country, had the world on our side then completely turned that around, etc. Sorry, but after all those failures, I could no longer support him. He was still president. The main reason he won a second term was that the dems picked a pretty worthless candidate in Kerry.
"Bashing Bush was wrong"
But doing the same to Obama is ok, right???
" and I stand behind what I have said before history will prove he was one of the best with what he had to deal with."
Guess we'll have to wait a few years to find out on that one. I believe that he'll be remembered as a mediocre president.
"You Libs deny the basic facts that the state of the country isn't all his fault."
Not at all. Plenty of things that are beyond his, or anyone's control. However, his policies, that were basically rubber stamped by a republican majority for the first 6 years of his administration, did not help matters. I think a number of our leaders, on both sides of the aisle, failed us. Unfortunately, folks on both sides of the aisle spend more time trying to show how the other side failed than actually doing something useful. A number of our problems cannot be solved by easy, quick, solutions. All too often, politicians go for the quick fix so that they can show the voters that they tried to do something. The speepal have about a 30 second memory, so anything that takes longer than that threasfold to complete will have little chance of getting done. We are part of the problem.
"... but don't get so carried away to not see that you Libs are getting what you dished out. Taste different now, huh"
You mean like was done to Clinton as soon as he took office? Seems par for the course these days, and getting worse.

My point exactly and in politics two wrongs make it right.:)
Hey, Barry asked ooops I mean payed for this job so when he slips up and I did say when, the whole world will be watching and pulling out the Microscope.
We all have no chance but to let him try, I mean what are we going to do about it? You know whats going to be awesome is when he starts making decisions (real decisions) and actually backs up his decision instead of what we have seen so far during the election process. I know thats how that process works so noone get their panties in a wad saying that McCain was no better.....even though he was.:p
Re: A great day for our country
Obama has the opportunity to erase the pejudice that blacks have against whites. That is the sum of the problem in this country. If he doesn't, he will send this country back to earlier years. The problem is that hate has been propagated amongst blacks against whites for so many years by people like Reverend Wright and black panthers that it is instilled in them. Obama has a tough row to hoe to rid this hate of white people in blacks.
