I've never hit a little kid before but I would make an exception in this case. It's a brave "he-man" who wants to dish it out but yells, "Waaah!" when he gets it handed back to him. I don't have a problem with my post being removed, that lets me know that I made the correct assumption....{{{laugh}}}...and I hope every REAL MAN on this board read it.

Auto Ordinance .45 (Hollow Points), Kahr P9 (Hollow Points), CZ 75d Compact(hollow Points), Taurus PT22(hp Segmented).
All good self defense weapons if that's what you're looking for. You never need to look over your shoulder if are prepared and understand the laws of self defense in your state. If you don't have the understanding of the state laws, then you can get yourself in trouble.
In humor though, Law Enforcement Agencies seem to respond quicker when you request the police and suggest they bring the Coroner with them!!LOL

Llama made a "Comanche III" .357 cal. Magnum, about 35-40 years ago and it looks almost like a Smith & Wesson with a 6-inch blue steel barrel. It is made in Spain and doesn't have any serial numbers. I think it has a high accuracy rate or I got lucky; saw a coyote sneaking up on the neighbors goat a long distance away. I took a rest on the post of the porch instead of regular grip, pulled down and the coyote rolled; it surprised the heck out of me. It's been a few years but I'm reasonably sure I was shooting high powered ammo with a full steel jacket.

As you probably know the more grains of powder the greater the accuracy. The bullet style determines the other part of the penetration distance. i.e., 3-6 in. body penetration where the bullet stays in the body, 6-10 in. body penetration which is also organ destruction, and 10-15 inch body penetration which, in most cases goes completely through the body. I left out a couple of the penetrations, but you get the idea.

I don't know if Llama is still sold in the United States but if so, they may have been required to add serial numbers. It sure would be interesting to know.

I had spent some time looking at the Springfield XD. I think Splitshot had one, gonna have to see if I can get some first hand advice on that one. No serial numbers? That would seem odd this day in age huh?

Yes it would seem odd this day in time especially in light of the fact there are stolen guns on the blackmarket with the serial numbers filed off. I may be a blonde but I'm not dumb. The numbers on my gun have NOT been illegally removed. My brother-in-law bought it new about 40 years ago and it didn't have serial numbers at that time. I bought it from him years later, still in the box. I have friends in law enforcement who have looked at it and have also said there have been no modifications. We looked at it under intense light to see if the numbers had been filed or ground off and they had not. My best friend's husband is a State Firearms Expert and he also said that it has never had serial numbers. That's the best information I have on it.

It's an interesting subject because my grandmother's handgun, a .32 cal. that Dad bought for her doesn't have any serial numbers either. He bought it new in the early 1940's a few years after her husband died. There is also a 1946 rifle in my family that doesn't have serial numbers. I really don't know at what point the government started requiring all gun mfgrs to use serial numbers. One thing for sure, I don't just randomly buy guns. All that I bought with the exception of the Llama came from licensed gun dealers. I have a paper trail for all them and most of those I inherited. My brother worked for Sears more than 35 years and had access to a wide variety of new guns by different mfgrs. He also bought guns from dealers in different states as well as pawn shops, gun shows, etc., and he inherited my Dad's gun collection which is a part of those I inherited.

I think the Gun Control Act of 1968 mandated that all guns manufactured in the United States and guns that were imported into this country were required to have a serial number. If I understand it correctly, those made prior to that time were grandfathered in.
If I am in error, would someone who KNOWS what they are talking about, please issue a correction.

I know the Brady Bill of 1993 (?) added some heavy restrictions for gun owners.

Don, when do you want to shoot it? Let me know and you can go to the range with me next time. I have a Springfield XD9, Service Model. It's a FINE pistol and I prefer it to a Glock. For carry, I'd get the SubCompact model, not the Service Model. (Same pistol, just shorter.) It shoots really nice, well balanced, and has nice safety features. (Beavertail safety, trigger safety, loaded chamber indicator, firing pin indicator.) Field stripping one is also a breeze. I've got an Insight tactial laser/light combo on the front rail and load it with Federal Hydrashocks for home protection. Fine, fine gun. I would like to have one in .40 cal, but the 9mm was less expensive to shoot at the range with cheaper target ammo. They have a new XD "M" series in .40 cal that is sweeter than tupelo honey, but I think it's only available in the full size service model so far.

You just heading to Buds? I might sign up for their next class. You have anytime this weekend? I would like a .45 but that subcompact doesn't come in that does it? Maybe it should be a Stoner morning and a shooting afternoon?

HMMMMMMM. Now there's an idear. I'll holler back this evening when I'm sure of my weekend, but it looks like I might be on point for that Saturday.

BTW, in a .45 you can't get a sub-compact model (3") XD. They make a 4" model. Kahr Arms makes a small .45...the model PM45 I believe...that has a 3" barrel and is small for concealed carry. I think it's a little pricey though.

Get you a Springfield XD Sub-Compact .40 cal and you'll be fine...unless the zombies attack. LOL

Look at the keltec 93AT for a weapon that is easily concealed. They are cheap, reliable, and tiny! A perfect BUG or summer carry weapon.

Im thinking about hitting up Buds soon to pick up a Taurus PT1911. Buds sells the standard blued model for like $520. On top of that Taurus is offering a $75 mail in rebate. You CANT beat a 1911 of that quality for that cheap with a stick!
