Re: Are there ANY honest politicians?
If there are honest politicans and I am sure there is one or two that were "honest" . Abe Lincoln, Jimmy Carter, Regan, played a great role as an honest politican, the one's that are honest are so honest that no one belives that they are honest, and the dishonest are so dishonest that everyone knows but are so dishonest that they get away with things. A catch 22, damed if you are honest, rich if you are not.

Wish I could find the pic of him I saw that made me think that.
I'm telling you, put those big ol Janet Reno glasses on him and they are twins, well maybe not twins but they look alike and the hair styles match.
Stop putting pictures of Janet Reno in my head! You could put them big ole glasses on anyone and they'd vaguely resemble her, so just stop it right there. Easier to stomach Mark and Don's (clearly a pair of sick individuals) descriptions. Hey, I just had an idea. If I donned a pair of Renos, maybe I could see fish 60 feet deep at Cumberland instead of only 30. Hm.
Re: Are there ANY honest politicians?
tyme2fish is still an honest politician.
You are half right. I am honest.
Re: Are there ANY honest politicians?
Don't let your head swell too big there Joe, pretty easy to catch fish with the biggest political scandal going. You do get a star on your leaf for bringing it up first though. That enough credit for you?

True, Geo.
Under state law, the governor has the sole unfettered discretion to name Mr. Obama's replacement. Until he's impeached or resigns that hasn't changed. Unless the Senate can invoke some circumstantial privilege or rule, they can vote all they want but Blagojevich still has the authority.
You're right............The state senate is going to force the issue though. THE state supreme court can rule him unfit, or the Senate can call a special session (which they currently are planning on doing), and CHANGE the LAW. As it sits today..........the CROOK does, in fact have the authority to appoint someone.
BUT I don't believe any appointments would stand. NOT NOW.
Later,
Geo

Illinois? Who else came from there? Hmmmm? Gonna be very interesting how this latest Illinois scandal shakes out.
Re: Are there ANY honest politicians?
You better hope nothing else happens from this BS cause I don't think our country can handle anything else at this point.
Re: Are there ANY honest politicians?
I wonder if they'll put Blag in there with the other Illinios governor(s)? I know there's already one in the klink now, and with another on the way they're going to have to build an new state pen just for governors up there. Geez, seems Illinois politics were more honest back in Al Capone's day than they are now.
Still giving President elect Obama the benefit of the doubt, I'm hoping fervently he'll be a good president. But you have to admit, him emerging from this political atmosphere makes you wonder.
Mr. Obama also seems to be making noises like he's backing off some on all those promises he made during the election. I'm trying as best I can to support the President elect, but as I said before if we middle classers don't get our tax cut, or we have a terrorist attack on our soil, I'm gonna be raising cane.
Re: Are there ANY honest politicians?
When you consider there are thousands of "politicians" in this country, I'd have to say there must be a few that are honest. I couldn't name one, but there has to be at least ONE.
Did anybody else see the list on Fox News yesterday of the most corrupt states in the country?
#1 Louisiana
#2 Illinois
#3 Kentucky
Yeh, but my crooked politcian is less crooked than your crooked politician. So there!! (LOL)
This country has turned out some great men in the past and there are some others not so great that ought to be turned out.
