Re: Sharing information....
What goes around...comes around.
Woody....there are always those people.
Most of the time you can tell people exactly what you're doing. Location, Location, Location. If your fishing 5' out of position, it won't work.
When it comes to Dale...it's time on the water and spots. That's the key. By the way, I've got a few more for you on Thursday.
Re: Sharing information....
Ellnut, you dont even know how much I agree with you!! 100%, need I say more? Nope! Got a couple guys like that around here locally. One in particular, used to fish with him and hang around with him and all that, you know.. Tournament fish, free fish, whatever all the time. Even used to chase women with him if you know what I mean. Now he gets a guy from somewhere out of town, brings him in and wins a local tournament. Ask him what and where, huh not a chance!! Burns me up! Needless to say, I never tell him anything about fishing now. I dont even boat talk with him anymore. Now that I know a little bout fnf, I've never mentioned it to him. Yea, I know how you feel. As far as me, I'll dont care to tell you where, what, and when. I have a day job, I dont fish for a living.. I enjoy it and hope everyone else does to, as much as I.
Re: Sharing information....
It takes nerve to even ask a man for specific spots!
I have requested info from a number of you via PM over the years but could never bring myself to ask for specific spots. Lures, type of structure, time of day, area of lake - all yes and I'm greatful. To put me on your spot though I could not even request.
I'm purely a 15 to 20 day per year recreational angler and what makes it fun to me is planning the trip and trying to figure out the lake given the condtions that come up on that day. Even when I use a guide the purpose is to learn the water and technique and not just to catch fish.
I was down in Lake Okeechobee in December and fished some private lakes. For whatever reason, I did not catch any big fish out of the private lakes that I normally always catch a 5-7lber. One guy told me a farmer fishing shiners at night had taken 150 large bass out of the private lake to stock a local pond and that one party within the community was catching and eating big bass (like 5-10lb fish) using shiners at night. Virtually all the fish in these private lakes where put there by the residents over the years who never eat or hurt the fish. All I could think is ignorant xyz. Some people just don't know how to act and unfortunately we can't change them.
